Job Description

As an Innovation Manager, you will be responsible for developing new innovation platforms, product ideas, and claims. You will drive cross-functional teams to deliver new products to launch readiness. This role involves leading innovation platform identification, executing projects within a 3-year pipeline, and building consumer-driven propositions. You will manage projects, lead cross-functional teams, and effectively transfer projects for commercialization. Collaboration with key partners, experience with third-party partners, and an external focus on trends and ingredients are essential. The role requires financial acumen, strong business case building, and budget management skills. This role requires a hybrid work arrangement with 2-3 days in the Warren, New Jersey office.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years of dedicated innovation experience
  • 4+ years combined marketing + consumer + innovation experience
  • Experience creating and delivering an innovation pipeline
  • Ability to identify and deploy powerful insights

  • P&L/budget management experience
  • Ability to lead within a matrix organization
  • US category experience

The Innovation Manager will be responsible for developing new innovation platforms, product ideas and claims, and for driving cross-functional teams in the delivery of new products to launch readiness stage. The ideal candidate will have several years of innovation experience, a demonstrated ability to independently build a multi-year pipeline by identifying, validating and leading development of new ideas, and the capability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional teams with speed, professionalism and creative-problem solving. 

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career.  These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Lead innovation platform identification and project delivery a leading brand

  • Execute on time in full several projects as part of a robust 3-year pipeline

  • Build and validate strong consumer-driven propositions, business cases, concepts, pricing, packaging direction and launch support scenarios

  • Project Management to lead cross-functional teams and deliver on time in full. Must lead projects and teams through stage gates

  • Represent pipelines and projects (in governance meetings, retailer engagements, etc)

  • During development, effectively transfer to marketing partners for commercialization & launch

  • Collaborate with key partners (Brand, Insights, R&D, Sales Strategy, Finance, etc)

  • Liaise and have experience with interacting with third party business partners (including at a senior level) collaborate on innovation pipelines and work through accelerated timelines.

  • External focus, aware of what is happening when it comes to trends, ingredients, culture beyond your job spec

  • Consumer obsessed and a fascination with the products and category we sell in  - formulations, science, look, and feel with a commitment to deliver superiority

  • Strong financial acumen. Ability to build strong business cases, forecasts, and manage budgets

*this is a hybrid role requiring a 2-3 day in office presence in Warren, NJ.

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • CPG experience

  • Innovation experience in fast-moving consumer goods, over the counter or non-traditional health/wellness industry

  • 5+ years of dedicated innovation experience

  • 4+ years combined marketing + consumer + innovation experience

  • Experience creating and delivering an enduring innovation pipeline

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and deploy powerful insights

  • Strong writing and communication skills

  • P&L/budget management experience

  • Ability to lead within a matrix organization, integrating complex multifunctional efforts crossing multiple business areas

  • US category experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA

  • Demonstrated analytical ability to understand and report data to drive business decisions.

  • Project Management Experience
