Job Description

The Innovation Marketing Director - Male Grooming will lead the Male Grooming strategy in Great China, focusing on product roadmap, innovation planning, and market introduction. This role involves translating consumer insights into winning concepts, steering the product development process, and defining new business models. The director will collaborate with various internal and external teams, manage forecasts and budgets, and lead the innovation marketing team. The position requires extensive experience in consumer marketing, product development, strong analytical and project management skills, and the ability to drive business growth in a complex international environment.

  • Partner with BU to build future roadmap strategy and pipeline handshake.
  • Orchestrate the planning process and secure innovation projects targets delivery.
  • Drive definition, development, and introduction of products.
  • Translate in-depth market, customer, consumer, and shopper insights into winning concepts.
  • Integrate new concepts into product and solutions roadmaps.
  • Develop and bring the concept from idea to market with communication.
  • Steer the Product Development Launch and Maintenance (PDLM) process from start to end.
  • Define and develop new business models to drive portfolio growth.
  • Work with local downstream marketing & design team to develop and execute marcom toolkit.
  • Forecast planning & budget control of innovation team.
  • Validate local insights and source of business with Insights & Analytics group.
  • Lead MG marketing research projects relevant to innovation.
  • Interact with various disciplines including local and global Innovation, Technology & Development departments.
  • Collaborate with internal and external design agencies, manufacturing units, or external suppliers.
  • Work with global innovation marketing, local product marketing, marketing communication, and international sales organizations.
  • Help to extend the lifecycle of existing products by contributing with marketing views.
  • Lead the overall Great China innovation roadmap on a regular basis with marketing teams in Taiwan and Hong-kong.
  • Ensure a successful product launch that fits with the Great China local market needs.
  • Be a significant leader and contributor to realize China Play Book strategy.
  • Accelerate L4L speed and simplify processes suitable for China needs.
  • Proactively communicate and collect feedback and gather insights from customers and sales leaders.
  • Develop locally relevant and channelized portfolio based on ZBA framework.
  • Coach, lead, and develop the MG innovation marketing team.
  • Build local innovation capabilities.
  • Master degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related fields.
  • At least 10 years of experience in an international business environment in consumer marketing or product management.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in product development marketing.
  • Experience with product development and product launches.
  • Experience with translating market research and shopper insights into product concepts and new propositions.
  • Proven track record with global consumer/retail brands.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple and diverse cultures in a complex matrix organizational structure.
  • Strong analytical skills and passion to drive business growth.
  • Ability to think creatively and pragmatically.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with local marketing and sales teams, influence others, present convincing arguments.
  • Ability to build and maintain extensive networks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills.
  • Solid spoken and written English skills.
  • At least 3 years of proven track record in leading and developing teams.

You are responsible for

  • As Consumer Marketing Director Male Grooming, you will be fully in charge of MG strategy in Great China Region, China Local-for-Local and Global-for-local product roadmap & RBU enablers related to innovation marketing;
  • Responsible for effective Regional Business Unit innovation planning based on granular SOB analyses: Partner with BU to build the future roadmap strategy and pipeline handshake and ongoing performance management against plan. Orchestrates the planning process and secures innovation projects targets delivery;
  • Drive the definition, development and introduction of products that bring ever-more rewarding and enjoyable experiences to consumers by meeting their needs. You will translate in-depth market, customer, consumer and shopper insights, as well as competitive analyses into winning concepts. You will then integrate these new concepts into product and solutions roadmaps, and develop and bring the concept from idea to market with communication;
  • Steer the Product Development Launch and Maintenance (PDLM) process from start to end, taking initial ideas through to product development and market introduction, including communication;
  • Define and develop new business models, to drive portfolio growth and find additional opportunities;
  • Work with local downstream marketing & design team to develop and execute marcom toolkit;
  • Forecast planning & budget control of innovation team;
  • In collaboration with Insights & Analytics group responsible for validation of the local insights and source of business; lead MG marketing research projects relevant to innovation;
  • Interact with various disciplines including local and global Innovation, Technology & Development departments, internal and external design agencies, manufacturing units or external suppliers, global innovation marketing, local product marketing, marketing communication and international sales organizations;
  • Help to extend the lifecycle of existing products by contributing with your marketing views;
  • Lead the overall Great China innovation roadmap on a regular basis with our marketing teams in Taiwan and Hong-kong market and ensure a successful product launch that fits with the Great China local market needs;
  • Be a significant leader and contributor to realize China Play Book strategy for accelerating L4L speed and simplify processes that is more suitable for China needs. Proactively communicate and collect feedback and gather insights from customers and sales leaders to develop locally relevant and channelized portfolio based on ZBA framework.
  • Coach, lead and develop the MG innovation marketing team and build local innovation capabilities

You are a part of

The Philips Personal Health Business. You will be part of the Philips Regional Business Unit - Grooming&Beauty Greater China team, a full end to end business organization, reporting to Regional Business Unit Leader Grooming&Beauty Great China region. You will be developing locally relevant innovations for the Great China, one of Philips’ most important and profitable market-business combinations. Working in a network of various stakeholders based in Greater China as well as oversees.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Master degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related fields with excellent academic track record, preferably an MBA;
  • At least 10 years of experience in an international business environment in the field of consumer marketing or product management; at least 5 years’ experience in product development marketing;
  • Experience with product development and product launches;
  • Experience with translating market research and shopper insights into product concepts and new propositions;
  • Proven track record with global consumer/retail brands with a demonstrated ability to work with multiple and diverse cultures in a complex matrix organizational structure;
  • Strong analytical skills and the passion to drive business growth. Ability to think creatively and pragmatically;
  • Excellent project management skills and broad interests that allow you to create multi-disciplinary environments that inspire and motivate others;
  • Ability to collaborate with local marketing and sales teams, influence others, present convincing arguments and build and maintain extensive networks;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills;
