Job Description

This intern role is part of Philips ultrasound R&D, a world-class innovation engine. You will contribute to medical imaging innovation, working with talented, multi-disciplinary scientists and connecting with the global R&D community. Must have:
  • Perform as Data Scientist
  • Process image, data and annotation, curate data for algorithm training
  • Develop solutions using new or modified algorithms
  • Ensure high data integrity and quality for model training, validation, and deployment
  • Find and choose optimal data sources and features
  • Participate in full AI model development processes
  • Work cross-functionally and effectively
  • Choose correct performance metrics and apply appropriate techniques
  • Discover ways to leverage data to achieve business goals
Good to have:
  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Computer Science or Biomedical Engineering
  • Good communication skills
  • Passion for medical industry

You are a part of

Philips ultrasound R&D, a word-class innovation engine with a history of more than 100 years and numerous inventions that have changed the human history. You will have the opportunity to drive the innovation direction on Medical Imaging in the organization. You will work with a group of talented, professional and multi-disciplinary scientists who have passion to deliver meaningful innovation in imaging system, and meantime connecting to the global ultrasound R&D community and related business stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Performs as Data Scientist. Acts autonomous within established procedures and practices.
  • Process image, data and annotation, curate data for algorithm training.
  • Develop solution to the specific problem, by new algorithms and/or significantly modify the existing, as needed.
  • Ensure high data integrity and data quality for model training, validation and deployment. Find and choose the optimal data sources and data features (variables).
  • Participates in full AI model development processes, working with broader autonomy and in collaboration mode with other team members. Work cross-functionally, effectively.
  • Choose the correct performance metrics and apply the appropriate techniques in order to maximize performance.
  • Discover ways to leverage the data to achieve business goals.

You're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor/Master/PhD in Computer Science or Biomedical Engineering is preferred.
  • Good communication skill and passion for medical industry.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.

Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
