Job Description

As a Module Development Architect, you will lead the end-to-end development of mechatronic modules for personal care devices, driving innovation in electromechanical systems. This role involves collaborating with firmware/software teams for embedded controls and IoT integration, partnering with manufacturing for scalable production, and coordinating with regulatory teams for compliance. You will define project timelines, conduct feasibility studies, manage IP strategy, and oversee prototype testing to ensure reliability and ethical adherence throughout the product lifecycle. Must have:
  • Lead the end-to-end development of mechatronic modules for personal care devices.
  • Drive innovation in electromechanical systems/module, ensuring performance, energy efficiency, and user safety.
  • Collaborate with firmware/software teams to integrate embedded controls, IoT connectivity, and AI-driven features.
  • Work closely with industrial designers, mechanical engineers, and product managers to translate user needs into module road map.
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure scalable production (DFM/DFA) and cost optimization.
  • Coordinate with regulatory teams to meet compliance standards (FDA, CE, UL, etc.).
  • Define project timelines, milestones, and deliverables for mechatronic modules/subsystems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis), and root-cause investigations.
  • Manage intellectual property (IP) strategy, including patents for novel mechanisms.
  • Oversee module prototype testing (durability, waterproofing, noise/vibration, etc.) and iterate designs based on results.
  • Ensure reliability under real-world usage conditions (e.g., humidity, temperature variations).
  • Ensure ethical and process adherence (ISO, export control, documentation, standard work, etc.) E2E from AD to PDLM to end of life.
Good to have:
  • Experience in the design and development of medical devices or the medical device industry
  • Quality driven
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma (i.e., being greenbelt certified)

Job Details

Your role:

  • Lead the end-to-end development of mechatronic modules (e.g., precision motors, pumps, sensors, control systems) for personal care devices (e.g., smart shavers, smart hair-care and skincare devices).
  • Drive innovation in electromechanical systems/module, ensuring performance, energy efficiency, and user safety.
  • Collaborate with firmware/software teams to integrate embedded controls, IoT connectivity, and AI-driven features.
  • Work closely with industrial designers, mechanical engineers, and product managers to translate user needs into module road map.
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure scalable production (DFM/DFA) and cost optimization.
  • Coordinate with regulatory teams to meet compliance standards (FDA, CE, UL, etc.).
  • Define project timelines, milestones, and deliverables for mechatronic modules/subsystems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis), and root-cause investigations.
  • Manage intellectual property (IP) strategy, including patents for novel mechanisms.

  • Ensure the ethical and processes (ISO, export control, documentation, standard work, etc) adherence, integrity and continuous improvement E2E from AD to PDLM to end of life of the product.

You're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor’s or above in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field., with minimum 10 years of experience in the field of product/ module development and preferably leading a team;
  • Experience with working in (international) multi-disciplinary projects, preferably in Business to Consumer.
  • People management skill and can accept challenges in new and unknown area.
  • Proven track record in miniaturized electron- mechanical systems (e.g., micro-motors, sensors systems, haptic feedback).
  • Familiarity with embedded systems (C/C++, Python), IoT protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth low energy), and sensors (pressure, proximity, IMU)
  • Technology and Function creation with principle and fundamental knowledge understanding and application. Knowledge of the design of mechanical constructions in plastic and/or metal and you are familiar with the mass manufacturability aspects (mould / assembly tooling design);
  • Ability to rapidly develop engineering concepts and drive them to functional prototypes.
  • Ability to effectively utilize both empirical and theoretical methods to solve complex problems.
  • Experience in CAD (Creo, NX) and simulation tools (ANSYS, MATLAB).
  • Good communication and strong interpersonal skill, to manage key stakeholders, work with internal project team, 3rd party developer, as well as external supplier. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in the design and development of medical devices or the medical device industry is a plus
  • Quality driven. Experience with Design for Six Sigma (i.e., being greenbelt certified) is a plus.
  • Ability to balance innovation and practical realization.
  • Determination in decision making and independence.
  • Ambitious, has leadership skills and is a team player
