Job Description
As an Inside Systems Engineer at Forescout, you will provide technical expertise and product demonstrations to the inside sales team. You will participate in customer meetings, understand their business needs, and identify opportunities for Forescout's platform. Responsibilities include developing proof-of-concept testing configurations, managing the POC staging, maintaining expertise in the Forescout platform, and working cross-functionally with product and customer success teams. The role requires hands-on testing and customer interaction, making you a trusted advisor. This is a hybrid role, requiring presence in the Dallas/Plano office 2-3 days a week.
Good To Have:
- Hands-on experience with Forescout eyeSight, eyeControl and/or eyeInspect.
- Networking and scripting experience with Linux, Bash, Python, or Postman.
- CISSP, CEH, CISM or other relevant security certificates.
Must Have:
- 3+ years of sales engineering experience.
- Knowledge of networking topology and TCP/IP protocol.
- Excellent presentation and writing skills.

What You Will Do
- Support multiple account managers on the inside sales team to provide technical expertise and critical product demonstration of the Forescout platform at an exciting and dynamic pace.
- Participate in customer meetings and discussions to understand their business needs, identify opportunities for the Forescout’s platform and provide technical advisory as requested by the account manager’s.
- Develop proof-of-concept (POC) testing configurations that meet prospective customers’ technical requirements for all qualified products.
- Execute and manage the POC staging time to allow for test plan refinement, configuration adjustments, and resolution of any issues or questions that may arise during the testing period.
- Maintain expertise in all areas of the Forescout platform through technical training.
- Provide timely escalations regarding risks to success.
- Work within a team to manage Forescout lab and create demo use cases to tell relevant stories for customers.
- Work cross functionally with product and customer success organizations to ensure your customers’ voice is heard.
- Motivated and want to work with networking technologies, enjoy hands-on testing, and customer interaction becoming their trusted advisor on Forescout’s platform.
- Work with distributed teams in a collaborative and productive manner
- Achieve and maintain FSCA in the selected technology area and FSCE certification would be a plus.
What You Bring To Forescout
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience with 3+ years of sales engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience working with Forescout eyeSight, eyeControl and/or eyeInspect products is desired.
- Knowledge of networking topology, TCP/IP protocol, network configuration and their components (layer 2, layer 3, firewalls, etc.)
- Excellent hands-on lab work, excellent presentation and writing skills, ability to occasionally travel, and customer awareness skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with distributed teams at a moderate pace of product demonstration and remote customer meetings.
- Excellent time management capability to monitor active POC’s, product demonstrations and internal meeting schedules for multiple account managers.
- Networking and scripting experience desired with either Linux, Bash, Python, Postman, etc.
- Thrives in a high-paced, changing work environment and a powerful technology platform that continues to grow.
- Flexible and desire to take on additional responsibilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- CISSP, CEH, CISM or other relevant security certificates are a plus.
