Interim Engineering Manager

We’re currently seeking an Interim Engineering Manager for a fully remote, 6-month contract (mid-September through mid-March) with a global technology leader recognized for its innovation, creativity, and scale.

In this role, you’ll step into a cross-disciplinary engineering team that supports SEO, Marketing, and Partnerships, helping drive impactful growth initiatives. You’ll balance strategic leadership, technical contributions, and people management—while fostering a collaborative, inclusive team culture. You will collaborate with Product Managers, Data Engineers, and Marketing partners to scope and deliver high-value projects, provide guidance on user-first technical decisions, and contribute to the development of new features such as internationalization and content hubs to enhance user experience. Additionally, you'll support global marketing and advertising campaigns, strengthen systems and operations, prioritize the team’s roadmap in alignment with company objectives, and mentor engineers in their professional growth.

Interim Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Engineers, and Marketing partners to scope and deliver high-value projects.
• Provide guidance on technical decisions that are user-first, thoughtful, and made with the right trade-offs.
• Contribute to the development of new features such as internationalization and content hubs to enhance user experience.
• Support global marketing and advertising campaigns by strengthening systems and operations.
• Prioritize and sequence the team’s roadmap in alignment with company objectives.
• Foster an inclusive, supportive environment and mentor engineers in their professional growth.
• Balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical contributions.

Interim Engineering Manager Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in an Engineering Manager role.
• Expertise in Web, Backend, or Data Engineering (Android/iOS experience a plus).
• Strong blend of technical depth and people leadership skills.
• Proven record of delivering impactful, user-focused projects in fast-paced settings.
• Passion for building inclusive, high-performing teams grounded in psychological safety.
