Onward Search is hiring a Product Manager for a 6-month contract role in New York, NY, requiring four days per week in-office and one day remote. The Product Manager will collaborate closely with editorial, design, engineering, and project management teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Manage unforeseen challenges with logical and effective solutions
  • Co-lead teams in design, engineering, and project management
  • Define user problems and propose innovative product solutions
  • Oversee product roadmaps and iterative development cycles
  • Develop and refine Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
  • Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to plan resources
  • Oversee day-to-day product planning and delivery
  • Proactively communicate updates, roadblocks, and developments
  • Align executives and stakeholders with the product roadmap
  • Create and manage comprehensive product documentation
  • Write product briefs and secure buy-in for new approaches
  • Build effective relationships across global teams and time zones

We’re hiring a Product Manager for an onsite opportunity in New York, NY. This is a 6-month contract role with the possibility of extension, requiring four days per week in the office and one day remote.

In this role, you’ll lead the strategic web roadmap for initiatives focused on enhancing discoverability. Working in close collaboration with editorial, design, engineering, and project management teams, you’ll identify data-driven opportunities to improve app engagement and drive business objectives through well-executed technical solutions. Product Manager Responsibilities:

  • Drive product prioritization within a 0–6 month timeframe, balancing short- and long-term projects.
  • Manage unforeseen challenges with logical and effective solutions.
  • Co-lead teams in design, engineering, and project management to deliver user-centric features.
  • Define user problems and propose innovative product solutions.
  • Oversee product roadmaps and iterative development cycles, ensuring clear requirements and alignment with business goals.
  • Develop and refine Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to deliver impactful results.
  • Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to plan resources effectively.
  • Oversee day-to-day product planning and delivery, including agile ceremonies.
  • Proactively communicate updates, roadblocks, and developments to stakeholders.
  • Align executives and stakeholders with the product roadmap.
  • Create and manage comprehensive product documentation.
  • Write product briefs and secure buy-in for new approaches.
  • Build effective relationships across global teams and time zones using strong verbal and written communication skills.

Product Manager Qualifications:

  • 3–6 years of experience designing, building, and shipping consumer digital products at media, social, creator, or editorial commerce companies.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or quantitative field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, etc.) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven success launching consumer-facing products or features at scale—ideally in media—with clear, measurable impact.
  • Hands-on expertise with modern CMS workflows (e.g., headless/decoupled architectures) and close collaboration with editorial teams.
  • Proficiency in analytics and event tracking (GA4, Amplitude, Mixpanel), with the ability to interpret trends and communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong foundation in experiment design and statistics (hypothesis creation, sample sizing, segmentation, guardrails, causal inference).
  • Experience with personalization and recommendation systems, whether custom-built or third-party, including API integrations.
  • Skilled in coordinating experimentation across teams, producing clear documentation, and keeping stakeholders aligned through structured updates.
