This 6-month Engineering Internship at LSEG is designed to provide a realistic experience of an Engineering Graduate Programme. Open to 3rd-year undergraduates completing their degree in summer 2027, studying Computer Science, IT, or Engineering, the role focuses on DevOps within LSEG Markets Engineering in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Interns will work on configuring and monitoring DevOps tools, scripting automation, implementing automated test suites, and evaluating various DevOps tools, applying new skills to real-world business challenges.
Must have:
  • Be a 3rd year undergraduate due to complete your degree summer 2027
  • Studying a Computer Science, IT, or Engineering or similar
  • Help configure DevOps tools (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery) for the team and monitor the DevOps infrastructure.
  • Involve in scripting and automate mundane tasks.
  • Plan and implement automated test suites.
  • Evaluate various DevOps tools.
  • Document internal processes.
  • Some knowledge in UNIX/Linux, SQL, and RDBMS
  • Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Bash, Perl)
  • Basic skills in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java)
  • Rights to work in Sri Lanka without restrictions for the duration of the internship programme

Job Details

Our Engineering Internship has been crafted to simulate our Engineering Graduate Programme so that you can understand what a career in Engineering at LSEG would really be like.

To be eligible, you must be a 3rd year undergraduate due to complete your degree summer 2027 and studying a Computer Science, IT, or Engineering or similar.

During your time with us you will have the opportunity to explore potential career paths by working within our LSEG Markets Engineering as a DevOps Engineer.

We have opportunities for students to join our Colombo – Malabe hub

We offer a wide range Dev Ops roles which will allow you to explore one of the following technologies:

  • UNIX/Linux, SQL, and RDBMS
  • Scripting knowledge Python, Bash or Perl
  • Object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java)

Main responsibilities during your 6-month internship

  • Help configure DevOps tools (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery) for the team and monitor the DevOps infrastructure.

  • Plan and implement automated test suites.
  • Evaluate various DevOps tools.
  • Document internal processes.

We will also support you in discovering more about the areas of LSEG by connecting you with the relevant departments so that you can learn more about them. All the while you will be applying your new skills to real world business challenges, through project-based learning.

  • Some knowledge in UNIX/Linux, SQL, and RDBMS, an understanding with Oracle and AWS would be a plus.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Bash, Perl).
  • Basic skills in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java).
  • Understanding of CI/CD processes is a plus.
  • Ideal candidates will have the rights to work in the Sri Lanka without restrictions for the duration of the internship programme
