This 6-month internship at NXP's Powertrain and Electrification Analog Driver Segment Line in Toulouse involves validating the latest generation of high-voltage gate drivers for SiC and IGBT power modules used in electric vehicles. The intern will define validation plans, execute lab tests using evaluation boards, create validation reports, and develop new evaluation hardware and software in collaboration with engineers. The role also includes debugging issues and supporting competitive analysis.
Must have:
  • Define validation plan in collaboration with application engineer and safety engineer.
  • Execute tests in the lab using evaluation boards and power modules (IGBT, SiC).
  • Create validation reports for customers.
  • Develop the next revision of HW and collaborate with SW engineers.
  • Debug problems encountered during validation.
  • Master Degree in System electronics/Power electronics, last year of engineering school.
  • Familiar with lab equipment (oscilloscope, power supplies).
  • Knowledge of electronic board design (Orcad / Cadence).
  • Knowledge in C programming language.
  • Knowledge in Labview.
  • Good level of English.

Context

As an important part of PL Drivers & Energy Systems (DES), and NXP’s Electrification strategy, the Powertrain & Electrification (PT&E) Segment Line is developing high voltage gate driver for SIC Mosfet or IGBT used in all electric vehicle.

We are looking for a 6-month intern to work on the validation of our latest technology of high voltage gate driver for Silicon Carbide/GAN. Intern will also develop evaluation HW and SW for our customers.

Your Responsibilities

You will be in charge of:

  • Defining validation plan in collaboration with application engineer and safety engineer
  • Running test in the lab using our different evaluation boards and power module IGBT and SIC
  • Creating validation report for our customers and application notes describing how the device should be configured.
  • Supporting competitive analysis vs other gate drivers
  • Based on experience acquired during the validation with our evaluation board and SW you will develop next revision of HW and collaborate with SW engineers to develop new SW.
  • Support out of the box activities for our different EVB already available

Your Profile

  • Education level: Master Degree in System electronics/Power electronics, last year of engineering school
  • Experience / Knowledge: Familiar with lab equipment (scope, power supplies etc..), knowledge of Orcad/Cadence tool to develop HW. Familiar with power electronics and motor control application is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in language: C, Labview
  • A good level of English is required, working in an international multi-site team.
