Job Description

As a Marketplace Data and Operations Intern at Vertex Inc., you will join a collaborative team supporting Microsoft-focused initiatives. This 12-week, full-time internship offers mentorship, hands-on experience, and opportunities to develop skills in a supportive environment. You will gain insights into Microsoft's influence, learn best practices for engaging with its Partner ecosystem, analyze sales funnel and CRM data to improve forecasting, support partner-facing deliverables, and explore automation opportunities. Technologies you may learn include Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Salesforce, Power BI, Power Automate, and Copilot.

  • Interest in the Microsoft ecosystem, marketing, branding, or creative writing

Job Description:

Duration: 12 weeks, 37.5 hours per week

Start Date: May 26 or June 8

As a Marketplace Data and Operations Intern, you’ll join a collaborative team supporting Microsoft-focused initiatives. You’ll receive mentorship, hands-on experience, and opportunities to grow your skills in a supportive environment.

What You’ll Experience:

  • Gain insight into Microsoft’s influence across technology partnerships
  • Learn best practices for engaging with Microsoft and its Partner ecosystem
  • Analyze sales funnel and CRM data to improve forecasting and process efficiency
  • Support partner-facing deliverables and explore automation opportunities
  • Technologies you may learn: Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Salesforce, Power BI, Power Automate, and Copilot

What We’re Looking For:

  • Technically curious with strong analytical and communication skills
  • Proactive and adaptable in supporting business operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Excel; experience with CRM or database tools like Salesforce preferred
  • Interest in the Microsoft ecosystem, marketing, branding, or creative writing (Copilot experience a plus)
  • Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree, expected to graduate in December 2026 or later, from any major (e.g. marketing, business, analytics or communications)

Pay Transparency Statement:

US Base Salary Range: $22.00 - $24.00

Base pay offered to new hires may vary based upon factors including relevant industry and job-related skills and experience, geographic location, and business needs.* The range displayed does not encompass the full potential of the role, which allows for further growth and career progression.

In addition, as a part of our total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Vertex Bonus Plan (VOB), a role-specific sales commission/bonus, and/or equity grants.
