Autodesk is seeking an Intern, Software Developer to join the Platform Organization within the Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions division, focusing on Fusion 360. This role involves working on user interface and client-facing components, as well as underlying logic. The intern will contribute to improving developer productivity and ensuring a consistent, scalable software platform, while receiving mentorship from experienced engineers in a collaborative team environment.
Must have:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior internship experience (preferably 1 or 2 terms of experience).
  • Strong programming, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with web-based technologies and constructs.
  • Participate in technical design and code reviews.
  • Design, implement, test, and maintain infrastructure components and user-facing features.
  • Collaborate with a team of software engineers, QA engineers, and designers.
  • Develop estimates for tasks and evaluate risks and dependencies.
Good to have:
  • Hands-on experience with JavaScript, Node.js, React, and Redux.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology.
  • Knowledge of unit testing and automated testing (e.g., Cypress, Playwright).
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD using Jenkins and Git.
  • Experience in C++ and Typescript.
  • Interest in AI technologies.

You will join the Platform Organization within the Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions division, working on the core components that power the Fusion 360 family. As a Software Engineer Intern, you’ll help advance our mission to improve developer productivity, ensure cross-platform device independence, and deliver a consistent, scalable software platform.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work on user interface and client-facing components for Fusion 360, as well as underlying logic. You’ll gain mentorship from experienced engineers while contributing to a supportive, collaborative, and diverse team, building skills to become a productive and impactful contributor.

You will:

  • Participate in technical design and code reviews.
  • Design, implement, test, and maintain infrastructure components and user-facing features based on stakeholder requirements.
  • Collaborate with a team of software engineers, QA engineers, and designers in Toronto and other worldwide engineering sites.
  • Develop estimates for tasks and evaluate risks and dependencies to aid in planning.
  • Receive mentorship and coaching from seasoned engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Prior internship experience (preferably 1 or 2 terms of experience)
  • Strong programming, debugging, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with web-based technologies and constructs
  • Commitment to learning and self-development in both technical and non-technical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team to achieve team goals
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications
