Job Description

As a Software Engineer Intern at Autodesk, you will drive projects, solve unique challenges, and delve into processes and tools for developing robust client/server ecosystems. You will manage projects end-to-end, including designing, developing, testing, releasing, and monitoring software solutions, while partnering with cross-functional teams in a scrum environment. You will also ensure code quality through testing and document processes, designs, and analysis.
Must have:
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program with an expected graduation date in 2027
  • Strong Computer Science (CS) fundamentals
  • Proficiency in Java, C++, Python, Go, JavaScript, or Groovy to develop components and service
  • Solid understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies
  • Managing projects end-to-end, including designing, developing, testing, releasing, and monitoring software solutions
  • Partnering with various cross-functional teams to solve critical problems across the organization, while working in a scrum team environment
  • Technical ownership of your code, and ensure code quality by testing (unit, integration and load tests)
  • Document processes, designs, test results, and analysis
Good to have:
  • Prior software engineering experience from internships, hackathons, or other related projects
  • Prior experience in Terraform and GraphQL
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools

Position Overview

As a Software Engineer Intern at Autodesk, you’ll have the opportunity to drive projects, solve unique challenges, while diving deep into our processes and tools supporting development of robust and highly performant client/server ecosystems.

Responsibilities

  • Managing your project end-to-end, including designing, developing, testing, releasing, and monitoring software solutions
  • Partnering with various cross-functional teams to solve critical problems across the organization, while working in a scrum team environment
  • Have technical ownership of your code, and ensure code quality by testing (unit, integration and load tests)
  • Document processes, designs, test results, and analysis

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in a full-time, degree seeking program with an expected graduation date in 2027
  • Strong Computer Science (CS) fundamentals, with a proficiency in either Java, C++, Python, Go, JavaScript, or Groovy to develop components and service
  • Solid understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior software engineering experience from internships, hackathons, or other related projects
  • Prior experience in Terraform and GraphQL is a plus
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools

About the US Intern Program

The 2026 U.S. program runs for 12 weeks (May 18 – August 7 or June 15 – September 4). All internships are paid. As an intern, you will contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, and participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development. Our internships align with Autodesk’s Flexible Workplace approach, which is designed to meet the needs of our business while providing flexibility in support of office, remote and hybrid work preferences.

Salary Transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience, educational level, and geographic location, and can exceed this range.

For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting annualized intern base salary to be between:

  • $47,840 and $95,680 (undergraduate students)
  • $72,800 and $118,500 (Masters/MBA students)
  • $118,560 and $162,240 (PhD students)
