Must have:

  • Demonstrated expertise in Customer Identity (CIAM) systems.
  • Proficiency with CIAM platforms (Auth0, PingOne, ForgeRock, Okta).
  • Strong grasp of OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, PKCE, SAML, MFA.
  • Deep understanding of customer authentication, security, and privacy.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and microservices.
  • Experience with automated CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
  • Substantial experience building cloud services on AWS.
  • Proficient with monitoring tools, root cause analysis, and alerting.
Good to have:
  • Experience with identity SDKs and APIs.
  • Familiarity with risk-based authentication, bot detection, and fraud prevention.
  • Exposure to progressive profiling, consent management, and external identity federation.
  • Experience integrating identity services with mobile and web apps.
  • Hands-on experience with CIAM tool evaluation and vendor integration.

Customer Identity Architect – Autodesk IAM Platform

Autodesk is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Customer Identity Architect to join our Identity and Access Management (IAM) Platform team. The Autodesk IAM Platform is a foundational service that provides secure, seamless, and scalable access across 150+ Autodesk desktop, web, mobile applications, and connected devices. It powers core capabilities such as authentication and authorization, serving millions of users worldwide and enabling a growing ecosystem of third-party developers and integrations.

In this role, you will lead the architecture and evolution of the Authentication capability, a critical component of Autodesk’s IAM platform. You’ll be responsible for designing and guiding the development of secure, resilient, and customer-centric authentication services that integrate deeply with Autodesk’s product landscape.

As a technical leader for the IAM team in India, you will provide architectural direction, mentor engineers, and ensure alignment across cross-functional teams. You’ll collaborate closely with global architects and stakeholders across the broader IAM organization to shape and drive platform strategy and execution. This position reports to the Senior Director of the IAM Platform and is based in India.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the architecture and design of modern Customer Identity (CIAM) platforms, with a proven track record of delivering at scale in cloud-native environments.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and drive the implementation of CIAM solutions across Autodesk products and platforms
  • Design secure, scalable authentication and authorization flows for Autodesk customers
  • Implement and manage OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, and social/federated login mechanisms
  • Lead technical discussions and decisions across internal teams and external partners
  • Evaluate future architecture directions through models and prototypes
  • Ensure solutions meet quality attributes: security, scalability, and resilience
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into well-designed services
  • Contribute to short- and long-term technology roadmaps

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years of experience as a hands-on software architect
  • Proven leadership in architecting global SaaS applications at scale
  • Demonstrated experience in Customer Identity (CIAM) systems
  • Hands-on with CIAM platforms like Auth0, PingOne for Customers, ForgeRock AM, Okta CIAM
  • Strong grasp of OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, PKCE, SAML, and MFA
  • Deep understanding of customer authentication flows, security practices, and privacy standards (e.g., GDPR)
  • Broad experience with modern SaaS development tools and frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures: microservices, event sourcing, REST/GraphQL APIs, container orchestration
  • Experience with automated CI/CD workflows and infrastructure as code
  • Substantial experience building cloud services on AWS and other major cloud providers
  • Proficient with monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic), root cause analysis, alerting, and log navigation
