This role drives execution excellence, ensures platform stability and scalability, and leads transformation initiatives in close partnership with Product Management and Architecture teams. The Senior Director will oversee day-to-day operations while shaping the long-term technology vision, enabling business outcomes across global functions.

Job Details

The Senior Director of Software Engineering provides strategic and operational leadership for a global engineering and systems team supporting Customer Success, Support, Sales, and Marketing applications. This role is accountable for driving execution excellence, ensuring platform stability and scalability, and leading transformation initiatives in close partnership with Product Management and Architecture teams. The Senior Director will oversee day-to-day operations while shaping the long-term technology vision, enabling business outcomes across global functions.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Drive the strategic direction for Customer Success & Support applications, with operational oversight of India-based teams supporting Sales and Marketing platforms.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of engineering managers and software engineers.
  • Build a culture of accountability, innovation, and adaptability across geographies and functions.

Execution & Delivery

  • Oversee development, enhancements, and integrations across platforms such as Salesforce Service Cloud, Gainsight, and related enterprise applications supporting Success, Support, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Manage workload planning, prioritization, and delivery in collaboration with Product, Architecture, and Experience Design teams.
  • Drive transformation programs that improve customer engagement, operational efficiency, and scalability.

Engineering Excellence

  • Establish standards for code quality, security, and documentation.
  • Champion DevOps, CI/CD, and automation practices to accelerate release cycles.
  • Ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance across global operations.

Collaboration & Governance

  • Partner with business and technical leaders to align technology initiatives with organizational priorities.
  • Govern KPIs around platform performance, delivery velocity, and operational impact.
  • Provide clear communication and alignment with executive stakeholders across regions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 15+ years of enterprise application engineering experience, with 5–7 years in leadership roles.
  • Proven success leading global engineering teams supporting Customer Success, Support, Sales, Marketing, or broader GTM platforms.
  • Experience leading Salesforce (Service Cloud), Gainsight, and other enterprise-scale application platforms at a global scale.
  • Strong background in agile methodologies, enterprise system modernization, and program leadership.
  • Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to travel globally (15–20%) as needed.
