Job Description

The Inventory & Quality Manager is a senior individual contributor responsible for inventory accuracy, product quality, and compliance across the DCs. This expert partners with 3PL teams, DC operations, Engineering, Finance, and Global Quality to deliver world-class accuracy, reduce defects, and uphold HP’s rigorous standards. The role blends deep analytical capability with hands-on problem solving and influential leadership to safeguard working capital, customer experience, and regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include owning the end-to-end inventory-accuracy program, leading the Quality Management System (QMS) within the DC, analyzing data to identify trends, championing defect-reduction initiatives, and serving as the site liaison for quality issues.
Must have:

  • Lead HP’s Quality Management System (QMS) within the DC.
  • Analyse inventory and quality data; develop dashboards.
  • Champion defect-reduction and zero-escape initiatives.
  • Serve as the site liaison for customer- and supplier-facing quality issues.
  • Collaborate with 3PL IT teams on system enhancements.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, CTPAT, EPA, ISO 14001/45001, and HP Sustainable Impact policies.
  • Drive continuous-improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma.
  • Deliver training and coaching on inventory-control best practices.
  • Act as the single point of contact for Finance during physical inventories.
Good to have:
  • ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, or CQM/OE)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
  • Experience in technology or electronics distribution
  • Background working with 3PL-operated facilities and externally managed WMS environments
  • Knowledge of U.S. import/export and CTPAT requirements

Role Summary

The Inventory & Quality Manager is a senior individual contributor responsible for inventory accuracy, product quality, and compliance across the DCs. Operating without direct reports, this expert partners with 3PL teams, DC operations, Engineering, Finance, and Global Quality to deliver world-class accuracy, reduce defects, and uphold HP’s rigorous standards. The role blends deep analytical capability with hands-on problem solving and influential leadership to safeguard working capital, customer experience, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end inventory-accuracy program- cycle counting, reconciliation, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions- working closely with the 3PL WMS team and HP SAP stakeholders.
  • Lead HP’s Quality Management System (QMS) within the DC: create and maintain procedures, conduct internal audits, and ensure alignment to ISO 9001 and HP corporate requirements.
  • Analyse inventory and quality data; develop dashboards that highlight trends, loss drivers, and improvement opportunities for senior leadership.
  • Champion defect-reduction and zero-escape initiatives for inbound, outbound, returns, and value-add processes; partner with Operations to implement mistake-proofing (poka-yoke) and statistical process controls.
  • Serve as the site liaison for customer- and supplier-facing quality issues: manage investigations, 8D reports, and preventive measures that protect brand integrity.
  • Collaborate with 3PL IT teams on system enhancements affecting inventory or quality modules; define requirements, test functionality, and validate accuracy
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, CTPAT, EPA, ISO 14001/45001, and HP Sustainable Impact policies; prepare for external and internal audits.
  • Drive continuous-improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies; quantify and track financial and service benefits.
  • Deliver training and coaching to supervisors, engineers, and associates on inventory-control best practices, quality standards, and audit readiness.
  • Act as the single point of contact for Finance during physical inventories, shrink reviews, and write-off approvals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • Substantial experience in inventory control and/or quality management within distribution, fulfilment, or manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise with ERP/WMS platforms (e.g., SAP) and data-analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL).
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements, root-cause methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D), and basic statistical quality tools.
  • Strong influencing, facilitation, and communication skills; able to drive change through cross-functional teams and 3PL partners without direct authority.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver measurable improvements in accuracy, cost, and customer experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, or CQM/OE) or Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
  • Experience in technology or electronics distribution
  • Background working with 3PL-operated facilities and externally managed WMS environments.
  • Knowledge of U.S. import/export and CTPAT requirements impacting inventory and quality processes.

The base pay range for this role is $82,800 to $125,050 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
