Job Description
As an iOS Engineer at Sporty, you'll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing their existing iOS applications. This includes implementing new features, designing new UI pages for various sporting events, rigorous testing, and releasing updates across multiple regions. You'll work with a global team utilizing Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, Jenkins, and Fastlane within an MVC architecture. The role demands experience with REST APIs, push notifications, multithreading, and optimization for mobile applications. You will be taking ownership and responsibility for our existing iOS applications, facilitating releases, and building end-to-end features.
Must have:
- 3+ years Swift iOS development experience
- Native iOS app development & support
- REST API integration, push notifications
- Multithreading, memory management
- Clean code in Swift

About The Role
With tens of millions of visitors every week, we strive to be the best in the industry for our users. Youâll be responsible for taking ownership of our existing iOS applications implementing new features, building new UI pages, testing the applications and releasing into new regions to align with our growth plans all whilst working with a Globally spread team.
Your Day-to-day
- Take ownership and responsibility of our existing iOS applications
- Facilitate and release new versions of apps in several new regions
- Build new end to end features on our platforms
- Create new UIs to stay on top of various sporting events Globally (World Cup, Football Euros, Olympics etc)
Our stack: Swift, UIkit, SwiftUI (Not much in SwiftUI), Jenkins, Fastlane, MVC
You should apply if you have
- 3+ years experience writing clean code in Swift for iOS applications
- Experience developing, delivering, and supporting native iOS applications by integrating REST APIs, push notifications and multithreaded experience
- Understanding of multi-threading, memory management, networking, caching, performance optimisation, localisation, and security for mobile applications
- Sporty is an English speaking working environment, so we are looking for English speakers
Our interview process involves 3 main stages:
- Hackerrank test (Maximum of 90 minutes)
- A call with a member of our Talent team
- Final interview with our iOS Engineering team (Youâll meet with 3 engineers on separate occasions for 45 minutes each)
We can confidently say that we have a feedback loop of 24-48 hours on all stages, so youâll never be left in the dark when youâre in process with us.
