In service management at PwC, you will focus on overseeing and confirming the delivery of quality and timely services. You will monitor vendor compliance with contractual agreements for service quality, availability, and reliability, manage the business and delivery of services, and lead service recovery in case of major incidents.

The IT Service Manager with a finance background is responsible for overseeing the delivery, support, and continuous improvement of IT services across the organization, with a focus on aligning service delivery with financial controls, budgeting, and cost optimization strategies. This role serves as a bridge between IT operations and financial stakeholders, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with internal controls and external regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage IT service delivery across all business units, ensuring adherence to SLAs, ITIL best practices, and customer satisfaction targets.

  • Collaborate with finance teams to develop and manage IT budgets, forecasts, and cost analyses, identifying opportunities for savings and efficiencies.

  • Monitor service performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives using financial insights and KPIs.

  • Oversee vendor and contract management, including procurement processes, cost negotiations, and invoice validation.

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, audit requirements, and data governance regulations.

  • Partner with business and finance leaders to prioritize IT initiatives that drive ROI and operational value.

  • Implement change management strategies for service transitions and technology rollouts with a focus on financial impact and risk mitigation.

  • Develop and maintain IT service catalogs, asset management systems, and chargeback models in coordination with finance.

  • Produce regular financial and service performance reports for senior leadership.

Requirements of the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CPA) a plus.

  • Proven experience in IT service management, with a strong foundation in financial planning, analysis, or accounting.

  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen; ability to translate technical data into actionable financial insights.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly with finance and executive teams.

  • Experience with ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy) and financial tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Excel).

  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, GDPR) and data governance best practices.
