Job Summary

A hands-on IT professional responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting desktops, workstations, servers, and network services. This role involves maintaining system security, recommending hardware and software solutions, and providing technical guidance. The specialist will manage complex issues with minimal supervision, ensuring data integrity and effective resolution of IT incidents.

Must Have

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop systems, workstations, servers, and network issues.
  • Maintain passwords, data integrity, and file system security for the desktop environment.
  • Communicate highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Recommend hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades.
  • Set priorities for projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to less experienced technical staff.
  • Triage, diagnose, and/or transfer work requests and incidents to appropriate group.
  • Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise desktop environments and troubleshooting across workstation/server/network layers.
  • Experience operating with minimal day-to-day supervision and handling complex issues requiring in-depth analysis and independent judgment.

What we’re looking for:

Responsibilities:

  • Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, servers and network issues in a heterogeneous environment.
  • Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment.
  • Communicates highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades.
  • Act as participant in the development of information technology and infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to set priorities for projects.
  • Ability to conduct training programs designed to educate an organization’s computer users about basic and specialized applications.
  • Quick to learn and understand industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
  • Provides technical guidance and direction to less experienced technical staff.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Excellent soft skills to interact with senior internal and external personnel.
  • Works on related projects and/or assignments as needed.
  • Triages, diagnoses and/or transfers work requests and incidents to appropriate group.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and will coordinate activities with other personnel.
  • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
  • Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise desktop environments and troubleshooting across workstation/server/network layers.
