The ESG Specialist team is looking for a Junior Data Scientist to build and maintain content on existing databases and test future database, tools, and systems. This role drives automation and simplification for efficient processes and quality updates within ESG Operations. The successful applicant will work in an agile environment on projects to deliver automation and process simplification solutions, including developing and deploying machine learning and deep learning models, conducting statistical analysis, applying data science skills to develop intelligent systematic checks on textual and Boolean data, managing data extraction, reporting, and analysis, using SQL for data management, implementing web scraping techniques, and working with large language models (LLMs) for natural language processing tasks. Job description:

ESG Specialist team are set of skilled and domain knowledge individuals who build and maintain the content currently covered on existing databases and test future database, tools and systems.  The Specialist team drives automation and simplification to bring in efficient processes and quality of updates within ESG Operations.

The successful applicant will be working in an agile environment and will work on projects to deliver automation and process simplifications solutions.

Roles, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and deploy machine learning and deep learning models to solve complex problems.
  • Conduct statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Application of data science skills to develop intelligent systematic checks on textual and Boolean data to identify incorrect and missing data
  • Manage data extraction, reporting, data analysis.
  • Use SQL to query and manage large datasets.
  • Implement web scraping techniques to gather relevant data from various sources.
  • Work with large language models (LLMs) for natural language processing tasks.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in ML, deep learning, and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Strong Python & SQL skills for data querying and manipulation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Experience with web scraping tools and frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of NLP and LLM concepts, familiarity with BERT, GPT, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Reporting using Python visualization packages (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn) and Microsoft Power BI.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of LSEG proprietary systems for automations including LEAD & DEMING.
  • Understanding of ESG content and marketplace.
  • Understanding of 6 sigma principles.

Education:

  • Data Science Certification or
  • Software Engineer or study in computer science subject area or
  • Any subject area of study along with expertise in programming languages like Python, VBA, SQL etc.
