Halfbrick Studios seeks a Junior Graphic Designer to adapt existing game art and content for various digital platforms. Responsibilities include creating promotional graphics for social media (Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube), resizing artwork for different screen sizes and aspect ratios, ensuring assets adhere to platform best practices, collaborating with internal teams for consistent branding, and assisting with general design tasks. The ideal candidate is passionate about games, possesses a strong design portfolio showcasing attention to detail, understands visual composition and branding, is proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop & Illustrator are essential), and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This fully remote position offers competitive salary ($60,000 - $65,000 AUD).

About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Graphic Designer to help our creative and marketing teams to help bring our existing art and game content into new, engaging formats. This is a great opportunity to build your skills in a fast-paced, fun, and collaborative environment.

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $65,000 AUD, commensurate with experience. As a fully remote organization, we welcome applicants from anywhere, allowing you to contribute your expertise without the need for relocation.

Responsibilities

  • Adapting existing art, assets, and in-game screenshots for use across multiple digital platforms
  • Creating promotional graphics and visual content for Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and more
  • Formatting and resizing artwork for different screen sizes and aspect ratios (think: portrait, landscape, square, Stories, Reels, etc.)
  • Ensuring assets follow best practices and design trends for each platform
  • Collaborating with our internal teams to ensure a consistent look and feel across all content
  • Assisting with general design tasks and being an extra set of creative hands when needed

Skills/Qualifications

  • A genuine passion for games – especially ours at Halfbrick!
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design skills and attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of visual composition, layout, and branding.
  • Comfortable working within brand guidelines and using existing assets.
  • Familiar with social media platforms and their image/video specs.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop & Illustrator essential; After Effects a bonus).
  • Collaborative team player who’s open to feedback and iteration.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, creative environment.

Pluses

  • Motion graphics or basic animation skills (After Effects, Premiere Pro).
  • Experience with game content or working in a game studio.
  • Familiarity with marketing tools like Later, Buffer, or Meta Business Suite.
  • Up-to-date with social media trends and visual storytelling.
  • Experience with design tools like Figma or Canva.
  • Basic video editing or short-form content creation skills (Reels, TikTok, etc.).
