Job Description

Techland, a leading Polish video game company with over 30 years of experience, is seeking a Junior Technical Artist. The role involves collaborating with art and programming departments to create optimized, high-quality visual assets and tools. Responsibilities may include developing specialized tools for artists and designers, creating and developing shaders and materials, environmental look development, and working with special effects tools like Houdini. The company is known for franchises like Call of Juarez and Dying Light.
Good To Have:
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of rendering pipelines
  • Knowledge of industry standard 3D packages
  • Basic to advanced modeling and texturing skills
  • Knowledge of Python, MAXscript or C++
  • Knowledge of HLSL/GLSL, real-time rendering techniques
  • Experience with Houdini/Blender Geometry Node

Job Description

Your daily tasks:

  • Working closely with the art and programming departments on creating optimized, high-quality visual assets and tools.
  • Depending on your speciality and experience:
    • creating specialized tools for Artists and Level Designers,
    • creating and developing shaders and materials, mainly for Environment/Character Artist and UI Designers,
    • environmental look development, creating full-screen effects and developing the rendering pipeline from the visual side,
    • working on special effects and assets using tools like Houdini.
       

Qualifications

  • Passion for creating games.
  • Proactivity and initiative to solve problems without waiting for detailed instructions.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Determination and persistence when facing obstacles.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop your skills.
  • Very good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Good command of English.

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience on the similar role.
  • Knowledge of  rendering pipelines.
  • Knowledge of industry standard 3D packages.
  • Basic to advanced skills in modeling and texturing.
  • Depending on your speciality:
    • kowledge of Python, MAXscript or C++ (for writing tools),
    • knowledge of HLSL/GLSL, real-time rendering techniques, shader/material optimization,
    • experience working with Houdini/Blender Geometry Node​.
