Job Description

The Lab Technologist - Oligo (D Shift) will perform duties in compliance with company policies and quality systems, maintaining records and manufacturing oligonucleotides. The role requires proficiency in laboratory instrumentation, handling hazardous chemicals, and strong math, communication, and attention to detail skills. A bachelor's degree or two years of laboratory experience is required.
Must have:
  • Perform all work in compliance with company policy and BioFire Diagnostics’ Quality System
  • Maintain records in compliance with regulatory requirements, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Manufacture oligonucleotides according to electronic batch records and WID’s
  • Handle hazardous chemicals in accordance with approved written procedures
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree (BS) or two years of laboratory experience
  • Proficient in math, specifically unit conversions
  • Good oral/written communication, pipetting/liquid handling of multiple volumes
  • Maintain attention to detail for extended periods of time
  • Execute repetitive tasks and maintain high level of consistency over time
  • Proficient in the use and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation including UV/Vis spectrophotometer, HPLC, liquid handling robots, and DNA synthesizers
Good to have:
  • Chemistry, BioChemistry, and Biology preferred

Description

Primary Duties:

1. Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Diagnostics’ Quality System.

2. Maintains records in compliance with regulatory requirements, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures.

3. Relies on instructions and pre-established written guidelines to perform job functions.

4. Manufactures oligonucleotides according to electronic batch records and WID’s.

5. Proficient in the use and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation including UV/Vis spectrophotometer, HPLC, liquid handling robots, and DNA synthesizers.

6. Handles hazardous chemicals in accordance with approved written procedures.

7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Training and Education:

Requires a bachelor’s degree (BS) or two years of laboratory experience. Chemistry, BioChemistry, and Biology preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Proficient in math, specifically unit conversions. Good oral/written communication, pipetting/liquid handling of multiple volumes. Maintain attention to detail for extended periods of time. Execute repetitive tasks and maintain high level of consistency over time.

Working Conditions:

Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.

Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day.

Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
