AECOM is a global infrastructure consulting firm. This role involves leading complex advisory engagements in transport and logistics, including roads, railways, ports, and airports. The role requires an MBA and a minimum of 8 years of consulting experience in infrastructure advisory.
Must Have:
  • MBA from a premier institute (IIMs, IIFT, XLRI, FMS, or other national/globally reputed business schools)
  • Minimum 8 years of consulting experience in leading strategy/management consulting firms in infrastructure advisory
  • Strong sector focus on logistics and transport (roads, rail, ICDs, MMLPs, ports, terminals, airports)
  • Proven track record with private sector leaders, government entities, and PSUs
  • Deep expertise in feasibility studies, DPRs, business plan development, bid advisory, performance improvement, due diligence
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Strong financial analysis and business case development skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage senior client relationships and influence decision-making
  • Strong leadership, team building, and people management capabilities

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities

The Principal Consultant / Director will play a critical leadership role in shaping and delivering advisory engagements across transport and logistics. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading complex consulting assignments in logistics and transport, including roads, railways, inland container depots (ICDs), multi-modal logistics parks (MMLPs), ports, terminals, and airports.
  • Driving high-impact studies such as feasibility assessments, detailed project reports (DPRs), sectoral visions, business plan development, traffic forecasting, and demand modelling.
  • Building and managing senior client relationships with leading private sector firms, government entities, and PSUs.
  • Providing thought leadership in transport strategy, logistics transformation, and infrastructure investment planning.
  • Guiding project teams, ensuring delivery excellence, and fostering capability building.
  • Contributing to business development efforts, proposals, and market positioning of advisory services in India.
  • Working collaboratively with AECOM’s global advisory network to bring best practices and innovations to the Indian market.

Qualifications

  • MBA from a premier institute such as IIMs, IIFT, XLRI, FMS, or other national / globally reputed business schools.
  • Minimum 8 years of consulting experience in leading strategy / management consulting firms in infrastructure advisory practices.
  • Strong sector focus on logistics and transport, with project experience across roads, rail, ICDs, MMLPs, ports, terminals, and airport sectors.
  • Proven track record of working with both private sector leaders as well as Government clients / PSUs.
  • Deep expertise in feasibility studies, DPRs, business plan development, bid advisory, performance improvement, due diligence, etc.
