Job Summary
The Lead Financial Analyst at Cubic Transportation Systems is responsible for financial planning, consolidation, reporting, and business analysis, primarily for G&A/Overhead functions. This role involves preparing budgets and forecasts, performing variance analysis, researching financial discrepancies, and providing business commentary to support decision-making. The analyst will also improve processes, implement business systems, and develop best practices for the corporation, working closely with regional management and other finance groups.
Must Have

- Assist in implementing critical business systems like Anaplan.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Minimum 5 years in financial analysis and planning.
- Advanced Excel modeling and technical consolidation tools proficiency.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with SAP and Anaplan.
Good to Have
- MBA or CPA certification.
- Hands-on project accounting experience.
- Alteryx and Tableau proficiency.
- Understanding of overhead, fringe, wrap rates, and project finance.

Job Summary:
The Lead Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial planning, consolidation, reporting, and business analysis primarily for the G&A/Overhead functions of CTS. The Lead Analyst will provide advice to business partners, management, and own data sets and analytics. This role is a key member of the worldwide team and develops best practices for the corporation. This position requires an individual who can work independently, make decisions, and own the financial functions without constant supervision and direction.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works closely with regional management teams to prepare consolidated G&A and Overhead financial budgets, forecasts, and perform variance analysis.
- Provide meaningful budgets and forecasts integrated with core business processes and strategies.
- Assists in overseeing pre-existing dashboards related to time worked and variance analysis. Presents results and partners with business leads to make corrections.
- Research any financial discrepancies that arise from in depth G&A and Overhead analysis.
- Analyzes monthly and quarterly financial results. Provides commentary on the business to enable decision making.
- Works closely with other intracompany finance groups to meet deadlines and develop best practices for the corporation.
- Improves processes and rolls out forecasting and budgeting tools to the business enabling timely and accurate forecasts and budgets.
- Develops strong working relationships and understanding of the company’s products and services to facilitate highly effective team dynamics.
- Assists in the implementation of critical business systems (such as Anaplan) to meet Cubic reporting requirements.
- Proactively reaches out to senior leaders, manager, and team members to resolve problems, questions, and create improvements.
- Prepares ad hoc analysis as required such as EAC analysis or other project related metrics.
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis and planning (preferably in a project-based organization)
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly advanced Excel modeling and technical consolidation tools
- Proven ability to navigate complex data and deliver concise management presentations
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels
- Experience using SAP
- Experience with Anaplan or other Financial Planning tools
Preferred Credentials:
- MBA or CPA certification
- Hands-on project accounting experience
- Alteryx and Tableau proficiency
- Understanding of overhead, fringe, wrap rates, and project finance
