The SAP Technical Development Lead drives all technical SAP development activities, ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions by leading teams, enforcing best practices, and fostering collaboration.
Must Have
- Lead and manage SAP technical development team across projects and operational initiatives.
- Plan, estimate, and deliver RICEFW objects per project timelines.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Collaborate with functional consultants and technical teams to promote seamless integration.
- Perform ABAP RICEFW estimation, reconciliation, and present progress in project meetings.
- Mentor team members on SAP best practices and OpenText development standards.
- Conduct QA reviews to ensure compliance with development standards and high-quality deliverables.
- Prepare technical documentation, execute testing, and support post-go-live activities.
- 15+ years of experience in ABAP & HR ABAP development and SAP project management.
- Deep understanding of SAP S/4 HANA development processes, Eclipse, Fiori, BTP, SAPUI5 and Node.js.
- Extensive working knowledge and understanding of SAP's new Enhancement frameworks.
- Proven leadership experience with at least 2 full-cycle SAP implementations.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Expertise in SAP RICEFW objects and related development standards.
- Solid understanding of SAP functional processes and integration points.
- Demonstrated ability to enforce best practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Experience managing teams of 5+ developers.
- Excellent multitasking and mentoring capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of evolving SAP technologies and willingness to learn new tools.

The Chief Data Office (CDO) Group at OpenText manages the organization’s Finance Systems, with a primary focus on SAP S/4HANA – Simple Finance as the core ERP platform. This team delivers end-to-end financial solutions through a combination of system configuration, process enhancements and custom software development, ensuring compliance with SAP best practices. Their responsibilities include maintaining integrated financial processes, implementing governance and quality standards, and driving innovation in financial operations that support OpenText’s global business needs.
Your Impact
The SAP Technical Development Lead is responsible for driving all technical SAP development activities across projects and change requests. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions by leading development teams, enforcing best practices, and fostering strong collaboration between technical and functional teams.
What the role offers
As a Lead IT Developer, you will:
- Lead and manage SAP technical development team across projects and operational initiatives.
- Plan, estimate, and deliver RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows) per project timelines.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Collaborate with functional consultants and technical teams to promote seamless integration.
- Perform ABAP RICEFW estimation, reconciliation, and present progress in project meetings.
- Mentor team members on SAP best practices and OpenText development standards.

What you need to Succeed:
