Job Summary
OpenText is seeking an objectives-driven, hands-on Manager for IT Operations. This role requires a detail-oriented, time and cost-conscious innovator with exceptional team-building skills. You will lead staff development, resolve conflicts, provide technical and project management direction, and recommend process improvements. The manager will also ensure the quality of commercial infrastructure and device builds, and assess team compliance with policies, contributing to the future of digital transformation.
Must Have
- Experience leading technical SMEs with diverse skillsets
- Sound understanding of major Virtualization technologies, especially VMWare
- Familiarity with converged and standalone Server hardware ecosystems including Cisco, HP, Dell
- Familiarity with major SAN/NAS Technologies, namely EMC, HDS, Netapp
- Deep understanding of major Backup software providers including Veritas, Veeam, Avamar, Networker
- Ability to guide teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Ability to provide technical representation of issues and ideas in meetings with peers
- Strong and current experience in infrastructure technologies
- Proven ability to manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

- Continuously working on developing staff through training initiatives
- Identifying and resolving team conflicts and eliminating obstacles affecting performance.
- Providing guidance and motivation for team to achieve goals outlined in established policies.
- Providing technical or project management direction - Prioritizing time against project lists in a changing environment
- Researching and recommending improvements to current processes and procedures and providing input on global direction
- Communicating departmental requirements and working effectively with other internal departments
- Managing, training and developing staff, ensuring high levels of employee engagement and the opportunity for upward growth with increased responsibility
- Ensuring the quality of the commercial infrastructure and device builds
- Regularly assessing team compliance with established policies and procedures
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

- Minimum 3 years of team leadership experience in a medium to large enterprise, preferably with international
- \-Experience leading technical SME’s with Diverse skillsets
- \-Sound understanding of major Virtualization technologies, especially VMWare
