Job Summary
As a Lead Data Architect & Developer at OpenText, you will be pivotal in shaping our enterprise data strategy and building scalable, high-quality data models. This hybrid role involves driving data architecture, governance, and model design, while also supporting integration, decision-making, and digital transformation. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure the data ecosystem supports current needs and future growth, maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models across cross-functional workflows.
Must Have
- Shape enterprise data strategy and build scalable, high-quality data models
- Drive data architecture, governance, and model design
- Support integration, decision-making, and digital transformation
- Collaborate with engineering, product, PMs, and business teams
- Architect, maintain, and govern conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Establish and enforce data standards, governance frameworks, taxonomies, and metadata best practices
- Support integration efforts and design common data sets across platforms
- Create tools/processes that improve productivity across teams
- Partner with QA to automate processes and ensure high-quality delivery
- Work with globally distributed teams and provide production support
- Mentor team members and foster a culture of technical excellence
- 8+ years in data architecture with strong experience in data modeling, governance, and Java-based development
- Expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, JSON structures, and industry-standard modeling tools
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelines
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

Your Impact
As a Lead Data Architect & Developer, you will shape our enterprise data strategy and build scalable, high-quality data models that enable interoperability across systems. This role blends strategy and hands-on development—driving data architecture, governance, and model design while supporting integration, decision-making, and digital transformation. You’ll collaborate with engineering, product, PMs, and business teams to ensure our data ecosystem supports current needs and future growth.
What the Role Offers
- Architect, maintain, and govern conceptual, logical, and physical data models across cross-functional workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, PMs, and business teams to align architecture with business goals and convert pain points into technical requirements.
- Establish and enforce data standards, governance frameworks, taxonomies, and metadata best practices.
- Support integration efforts and design common data sets across platforms to reduce redundancy and improve data quality.
- Create tools/processes that improve productivity across Product, Engineering, Professional Services, and Project Management teams.
- Partner with QA to automate processes and ensure high-quality delivery while following Agile practices.
- Work with globally distributed teams and provide production support when needed.
- Mentor team members and foster a culture of technical excellence.
What You Need to Succeed
- 8+ years in data architecture with strong experience in data modeling, governance, and Java-based development.
- Expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, JSON structures, and industry-standard modeling tools.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across geographies.
- Exposure to Python, AI model integration, and EDI (nice-to-have).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
