Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Level Designer to help drive the creative vision, quality, and production processes of level design across our casual games portfolio. You’ll lead a small team of level designers, provide mentorship and feedback, and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our levels are fun, innovative, and aligned with our player-first philosophy. This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll balance strategy, people management, and direct level creation work, while continuously raising the bar for design quality and player experience.
Must have:
  • Own the vision and quality of level design across one or more casual titles.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of level designers.
  • Drive the full level design process from concept to final polish.
  • Set standards, best practices, and pipelines for level creation.
  • Partner closely with art, product, and development teams.
  • Analyze game data and feedback to identify trends, opportunities, and pain points.
  • Promote a culture of rapid prototyping, playtesting, and feedback-driven iteration.
  • Collaborate with tech artists and engineers to improve and expand level design tools.
  • Push creative boundaries while maintaining consistency with the game’s tone, pacing, and difficulty curve.

Role Overview & Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a Lead Level Designer to help drive the creative vision, quality, and production processes of level design across our casual games portfolio. You’ll lead a small team of level designers, provide mentorship and feedback, and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our levels are fun, innovative, and aligned with our player-first philosophy.

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of level designers—guiding their creative work and helping them grow.
  • Drive the full level design process from concept to final polish, ensuring levels are engaging, balanced, and in line with business and design goals.
  • Set standards, best practices, and pipelines for level creation, playtesting, and iteration.
  • Partner closely with art, product, and development teams to define feature requirements, tools, and production needs.
  • Analyze game data and feedback to identify trends, opportunities, and pain points—using this insight to inform decisions.
  • Promote a culture of rapid prototyping, playtesting, and feedback-driven iteration.
  • Collaborate with tech artists and engineers to improve and expand level design tools.
  • Push creative boundaries while maintaining consistency with the game’s tone, pacing, and difficulty curve.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • 4+ years of experience in level design, with at least 1 year in a lead or senior role.
  • Strong expertise in casual game level design.
  • A deep understanding of player psychology, pacing, challenge, and reward systems.
  • Solid experience working with Unity and basic knowledge of Excel or other balancing tools.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience mentoring or managing other designers is a strong plus.
  • Comfortable using and helping evolve in-house level design tools and systems.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
