They manage a team of Producers, providing mentorship and guidance, and report to an Executive Producer, Product Director, or GM.

  • 7+ years of game development production experience in senior leadership.

About us:

Jam City are looking for a motivated and skilled Lead Producer to join our team. You’ll work with designers, artists, engineers, product managers, QA analysts, and other producers to develop new game content like features, events, sales, and visuals.

About the role:

A Lead Producer is a senior management role responsible for overseeing the production of a specific product or major aspect of a product or several smaller products. They are accountable for the overall success of the project, managing budgets, timelines, and resources across multiple teams. Lead Producers drive strategic decisions, foster a collaborative and efficient development environment (potentially leveraging agile frameworks), and ensure clear communication between all stakeholders, including executive leadership. They typically manage a team of Producers and other production staff, providing mentorship and guidance. This role reports to an Executive Producer, Product Director or GM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the overall success of a product or major aspect of a product or several small products, including budget, timeline, and quality.
  • Develop and implement strategic production plans, potentially incorporating agile methodologies for flexibility and responsiveness.
  • Oversee and manage one or multiple production teams, ensuring effective collaboration and resource allocation.
  • Drive key decision-making processes, resolving complex issues and mitigating risks.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the production teams.
  • Manage communication with executive leadership and other key stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and challenges.
  • Mentor and develop Producers and other production staff, helping them grow their skills and leadership capabilities.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to enhance production efficiency, including advanced project management software that supports agile practices.
  • Manage external relationships with vendors and partners at a strategic level.
  • Help define and manage team structure, recruitment, and staffing needs to ensure the team has the necessary skills and capacity.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for project status, providing clear, concise, and regular updates to executive stakeholders, external partners, and publishing teams.

  • Advanced English Proficiency
  • Technical and soft skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Expertise in managing complex projects and multiple teams. Ability to drive accountability and foster a collaborative environment. Deep understanding of agile principles and their application at a strategic level.
  • Decision-making & problem-solving skills: Expert at making high-impact decisions under pressure. Ability to identify and address root causes of complex issues across the entire product lifecycle. Exceptional risk management and mitigation skills.
  • Tools & technology: Mastery of project management tools and methodologies, including those that support agile at scale. Ability to evaluate and implement new technologies to improve production workflows.
  • Deep understanding of the game development process and product lifecycle. Extensive knowledge of market trends, player behavior, and business drivers. Ability to have strategic discussions with all disciplines, including Product, Design, Art, Engineering, Marketing, and Business Development.

Education & Experience:

  • Suggested Educational Background: A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as game design, production, business administration, or a related management discipline. MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum years of relevant experience: 7+ years or equivalent experience in game development production, with a significant portion in senior leadership or management roles. Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects.
