This Lead Product Manager role within the PayPal Rewards team focuses on driving loyalty and cross-product adoption by making PayPal the most rewarding way to pay. It's a key role in building a loyalty program from scratch during a period of transformation, contributing to PayPal's growth strategy.
Must have:
  • Input to product strategy with cross-functional stakeholders consistent with the shared vision.
  • Implement architectural roadmap balancing innovative design, technical implementation, regulatory requirements, and profitability.
  • Control for customer experience and needs in product requirements and decision making.
  • Monitor metrics informing product success, including usability studies, research, and market analysis.
  • Manage one or more workstreams including analytics, customer discovery, market research, and competitive analysis.
  • Monitor product profitability measures, including budget.
  • Participate in operational mechanisms like Product Reviews, Operating Reviews, and Business Reviews.
  • Partner with content developers, data scientists, product designers, and user experience researchers.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Inputs to product strategy with cross-functional stakeholders consistent with the shared vision for the product.
  • Implements the architectural roadmap that balances innovative design and technical implementation, while balancing regulatory requirements, time-to-market, meeting customer needs and product profitability.
  • Controls for the customer experience and customer needs in product requirements and as an input to decision making.
  • Monitors metrics that inform the success of products including usability studies, research and market analysis.
  • Manages one or more workstreams to include analytics, customer discovery, market research and competitive analysis to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitors product profitability measures, including budget.
  • Participates in operational mechanisms that drive execution and accountability including Product Reviews, Operating Reviews, and Business Reviews. Interfaces with product leadership as needed.
  • Partners with content developers, data scientists, product designers and user experience researchers.

  • Define data requirements: Partner with data and engineering teams to establish the transactional and behavioral data inputs needed to power personalization at scale.
  • Drive integration opportunities: Collaborate with merchant integration teams and third-party data providers to enhance personalization capabilities and explore innovative approaches to data enrichment.
  • Develop rewards and loyalty foundation: Create and maintain a centralized repository of PayPal’s first-party rewards, loyalty campaigns, and messages in standardized formats to enable consistent personalization.
  • Partner across the business: Work closely with internal stakeholders including loyalty, marketing, sales, partnerships, and product teams to align on personalization opportunities that deliver value for consumers and merchants.
  • Design personalization engine: Lead the development of an aggregation engine that consolidates multiple earning opportunities into personalized, compelling, and rewarding consumer experiences.
  • Enable smart personalization: Define and deliver the interface for personalization and wallet teams to access aggregated rewards, including inputs for filtering, outputs for consumer messaging, and economic value equivalents for model evaluation.
  • Shape CRM personalization strategy: Establish integration patterns with CRM teams to ensure personalized, full-funnel consumer experiences across channels and touchpoints.

  • Loyalty Expertise – Proven experience designing or scaling loyalty programs that deepen customer engagement and retention.
  • Personalization Experience – Background in building personalized product experiences that leverage customer insights to drive relevance and impact.
  • Machine Learning & Data Science Fluency – Strong understanding of how ML and data science models can be applied to product development, with the ability to partner effectively with technical teams.
