Job Description

Join a collaborative, agile product development team as a Lead Software Engineer, building critical technology solutions on our strategic Application Hosting Platform. This platform distributes and hosts full-stack applications, enabling faster software delivery. The Refinitiv Application Platform Library (RAPL) and Eikon Library serve as the backend, maintaining a comprehensive registry for over 100,000 traders, facilitating seamless navigation and efficient application management. Powered by cloud-native technologies, RAPL enables scalable, resilient applications in dynamic environments.
Must have:
  • Lead technical domains of Refinitiv Application Platform Library (RAPL) and Eikon Library development
  • Improve and maintain the Applications framework for Eikon and Refinitiv Workspace
  • Deliver hybrid cloud solutions on clouds and on-premises infrastructure
  • Lead various projects and collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, Software Engineers and Reliability Engineers
  • Lead and accountable for straight-forward projects and associated teams
  • Responsible for handling own time and responsibilities
  • Participate in complex projects that affect a Business Unit
  • Lead priorities to meet timeline; develop plans to meet short-term objectives
  • Apply a wide range of policies or standards in straightforward situations
  • Identify and resolve technical and operational problems
  • Proficient in maintaining and supporting back-end infrastructure
  • Experience in Backend Development, Sysadmin and DevOps
  • Strong experience in Cloud Computing Architecture, Serverless Computing, Container Service (AWS, Azure)
  • Experience of complex system design, development and partnership in Agile environment
  • Understanding of web applications development and web API standards
  • Knowledge of service development, synchronous/asynchronous, long running, concurrency and multithreading
  • Good knowledge of C#, Shell Scripts and Databases
  • Familiar with Agile Scrum/Kanban Process
  • Experience in automating software delivery process, continuous integration/continuous delivery

Overview

We’re seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join a highly collaborative, multi-functional, agile product development team. This team is responsible for building and conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas on our strategic Application Hosting Platform — a system designed to distribute and host full-stack applications across our technology ecosystem, enabling organizations to deliver software faster and more efficiently.

Refinitiv Application Platform Library (RAPL) and Eikon Library are the Application Metadata backend maintains a comprehensive registry of applications used daily by over 100,000 traders. It serves as the backbone for strategic applications, enabling seamless navigation, enhanced discoverability, and efficient application management—including the capability to deliver specific application versions to end users. Powered by cloud-native technologies, RAPL equips teams to build and operate scalable, resilient applications in modern, dynamic environments.

Main Responsibilities:

As a Lead Software Engineer role, you will be a member of the Application Infrastructure team, leading technical domains of the Refinitiv Application Platform Library (RAPL), Eikon Library development team to improving and maintaining the Applications framework which powers of flagship products Eikon and Refinitiv Workspace, delivery of hybrid cloud solution on clouds and on-premises infrastructure, leading various number of projects and collaborate with hardworking Product Managers, Architects, Software Engineers and Reliability Engineers across the globe.

  • Lead and accountable for straight-forward projects and associated teams.
  • Responsible for handling own time and responsibilities.
  • Participates in complex projects that affect a Business Unit

Planning & Decision Making:

  • Lead priorities to meet timeline; develops plans to meet short-term objectives.
  • Applies a wide range of policies or standards in straightforward situations.
  • Identifies and resolves technical and operational problems.
  • Decisions involve interpretation of data, planning own work, or refining the methods and techniques to be used.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in maintaining and support back-end infrastructure
  • Experience in Backend Development, Sysadmin and DevOps
  • Strong experience in Cloud Computing Architecture, Serverless Computing, Container Service (AWS, Azure)
  • Shown experience of complex system design, development and partnership in Agile environment
  • Shown Understanding of web applications development and web API standards
  • Shown knowledge of service development, synchronous/asynchronous, long running, concurrency and multithreading
  • Shown good knowledge of C#, Shell Scripts and Databases
  • Familiar with Agile Scrum/Kanban Process, good Communication Skill
  • Experience in automates software delivery process, continuous integration/continuous delivery
