Job Description

We are seeking a Level Artist to enhance gameplay spaces in Solid River, our AAA survival game. You will detail and polish villages and dungeons, balancing visual appeal with functional clarity to guide players. Collaborating with Environment Artists and Game Designers, you'll ensure locations are immersive and support gameplay, contributing to a cohesive world.
Must have:
  • Dress and polish gameplay areas such as village layouts and dungeons
  • Balance visual beauty with gameplay readability to ensure smooth navigation and player engagement
  • Handle asset placement, lighting adjustments, and environment storytelling at the micro level
  • Collaborate with Game Designers to integrate artistic vision with gameplay flow and technical constraints
  • Optimize levels for performance without compromising visual quality
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Level Artist, Environment Artist, or similar role on AAA titles
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating visually rich and gameplay-friendly environments
  • Proficiency with Unreal Engine 5 and industry-standard tools such as Blender, Maya, or similar
  • Strong understanding of composition, lighting, and environmental storytelling
  • Ability to balance creative vision with technical and gameplay requirements
  • Fluent in English
  • Onsite position in Munich

  • Familiarity with modular asset workflows and optimization techniques
  • Knowledge of player guidance methods through visual cues

##### Your Role

We’re looking for a Level Artist to bring our gameplay spaces to life with detail, atmosphere, and strong gameplay clarity. You will dress and polish villages, dungeons and other playable areas — balancing beauty with function to guide the player and enhance the overall experience in Solid River.

You will work closely with Environment Artists and Game Designers to ensure every location supports gameplay while feeling rich, immersive, and part of a cohesive world.

##### Responsibilities

##### Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Level Artist, Environment Artist, or similar role on AAA titles
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating visually rich and gameplay-friendly environments
  • Proficiency with Unreal Engine 5 and industry-standard tools such as Blender, Maya, or similar
  • Strong understanding of composition, lighting, and environmental storytelling
  • Ability to balance creative vision with technical and gameplay requirements
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus
  • Onsite position in Munich
