Electronic Arts is seeking an experienced Level Designer to join Criterion Games on the Battlefield franchise. This role involves blocking out playable spaces, managing level flow and player experience from concept to completion, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The designer will use internal tools and visual scripting, analyze player data, and participate in reviews to ensure high-quality FPS content. Candidates need 3+ years of experience, strong blockout skills, and familiarity with game engines and scripting.
Must have:
  • Blockout playable spaces and gameplay content using internal level editor and visual scripting language.
  • Manage layout, flow, pacing, and overall player experience of your level from concept to final.
  • Work closely with the Design Director to ensure requirements of gameplay, creative, and technical stakeholders are maintained.
  • Champion the player experience as you collaborate with other disciplines to create outstanding levels and best-in-class FPS content.
  • Create and maintain documentation to demonstrate expectations around your level and its associated content.
  • Analyze player behavior by using telemetry and other types of data to improve your level.
  • Participate in playtests and peer-reviews where you will provide feedback to your fellow designers.
  • Evangelise the quality targets for level design and all the content found in the spaces created.
  • Anticipate technical and creative challenges whilst facilitating communication to address concerns quickly.

We are looking for an experienced level designer to join us on Battlefield!

What you will do:

• Blockout playable spaces and gameplay content using our internal level editor and visual scripting language.

• Manage layout, flow, pacing and overall player experience of your level from concept to final.

• Work closely with the Design Director to ensure requirements of gameplay, creative and technical stakeholders are maintained.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience as a Level Designer. Preferably on a AAA shooter or action game.

• Proven blockout skills with examples demonstrating strong fundamentals in layout and encounter design.

• Experience working with game engines and their associated visual scripting languages.

• Comfortable working in cross discipline teams to deliver high quality content.

• Motivated, flexible and approachable. You will champion quality across the team.

• Outstanding communication and documentation skills.

• A passionate gamer, with strong knowledge of FPS and action games.
