Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced Lore Master to join the core Franchise team at CD PROJEKT RED. In this role, you’ll take part in the creation and ongoing development of lore, helping to shape the continuity and narrative vision behind our worlds across a variety of projects. You’ll act as an in-house lore expert—supporting both internal teams and external partners to ensure consistency, creativity, and authenticity across our games and extended franchise materials. If storytelling and world-building are your passions, and you’re excited to help build immersive, coherent universes—this might be your next adventure.
Daily responsibilities:
- Provide feedback on franchise products (games, novels, comics, merchandise, etc.) to maintain consistency in lore and world-building.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners (e.g., licensees, merchandise, marketing) to ensure franchise vision is respected across all media.
- Assist in the development of franchise documentation: lore bibles, timelines, setting guides, terminology guides, etc.
- Take part in long-term franchise planning, including work on new IP and lore systems.
- Write or edit franchise-related materials including in-game text, out-of-game lore content (e.g., art books, franchise documentation), and internal franchise communications.
- Conduct narrative research and digest existing materials such as novels, comics, and previous game installments to maintain internal consistency.
- Support licensees with narrative guidance, writing feedback, and editorial notes in collaboration with our copywriting and English adaptation teams.
- Participate in the creation of franchise documentation, articles, and other world-building materials to support narrative design across departments.
Qualifications
- Experience in narrative writing, technical writing, copywriting, or a related discipline.
- Strong English writing skills with attention to tone, clarity, and world-building.
- Proven ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of lore or fictional content.
- Familiarity with CDPR’s franchises (Cyberpunk and The Witcher), or a willingness to deep-dive and learn them thoroughly.
- Research skills and a critical approach to written media.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- Experience working in or with game development pipelines is a plus.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working on licensed properties or transmedia IP.
If you're applying as a writer or narrative designer, we encourage you to submit a portfolio or writing samples that showcase your voice and world-building skills.
