The Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for performing basic preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools, and assists other members of the Maintenance Department in various machine/building repairs. This role involves conducting regular preventative maintenance on all machinery, equipment, tools, and the building itself. The mechanic assists in repairing woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts, adhering to diagrams, manuals, and manufacturer specifications. Additional responsibilities include ordering supplies and parts, maintaining repair and maintenance records, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining a clean work area. The mechanic participates in safety and continuous improvement programs and may handle hazardous materials as needed, preparing various reports and performing other duties as required.
Must Have:- High school diploma
- Minimum 1 year of experience in machine repair in maintenance
- Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding
- Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations
- Working knowledge of hazardous waste and material handling procedures
