Job Description

General labor is responsible for safely handling lumber products and verifying that material meets customer requirements and company expectations. This role involves moving, securing, stacking, labeling, and banding lumber, as well as operating a staple gun and maintaining inventory. The position requires adherence to company policies, participation in safety programs, and maintaining a clean work area.
Good To Have:
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Manufacturing or lumber experience
Must Have:
  • Safely handle lumber products
  • Verify material meets customer requirements and company expectations
  • Move and secure lumber products and other materials
  • Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
  • Label material based on type, size, and count
  • Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production
  • Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment
  • Band, bundle, and secure material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
  • Follow instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
  • Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
  • Record production on production sheets
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
  • Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Working knowledge of basic math
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
