Job Summary

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions for chip and advanced display production. Applied Global Services (AGS) enhances customer equipment performance and productivity. We are seeking an experienced executive to lead the Taiwan Field Service Organization, overseeing all service offerings, metric reporting, forecasting, and strategic direction with full P&L responsibility. This role requires strong coordination with regional and headquarters leaders, focusing on driving innovation and achieving business objectives.

Must Have

  • Direct a Field Service group, managing complex service programs, customer satisfaction, P&L, and budget.
  • Anticipate account needs, lead design, and implement new service approaches across the division.
  • Direct strategic direction for all customer relationships within the division for operational and service commitments.
  • Interface with internal and external customers on business and operational issues.
  • Ensure programs, strategies, and processes address high value problems (HVP) for the division and segment.
  • Lead interface with internal and external customers on service and customer satisfaction issues.
  • Provide approval guidelines and leadership to reporting managers for long-term program, strategy, and process design.
  • Define performance metrics and report on field service division's progress.
  • Demonstrate broad and comprehensive understanding of different systems, theories, and practices.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of own segment/function, business, and commercial expertise.
  • Lead a business unit, department or sub-function through multiple levels of managers.
  • Develop and execute business unit, department or sub-functional strategy.
  • Lead through direct management responsibilities and influencing resources.
  • Provide vision and mission of field organization on regional and global level.
  • Evaluate key business challenges and direct development of new solutions.
  • Anticipate challenges and impact segment/function results.
  • Influence and negotiate at top executive levels.
  • Possess a BA/BS in Engineering or Business/Operational Management.
  • Have >10 years of progressive functional experience in a complex global company.
  • Have at least 3-5 years as a leader/manager of a Services Organization.
  • Experience in large scale organizational management (at least 500 staff).
  • Strong Business and Financial Acumen.
  • Strong written and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to apply market knowledge to advance operational goals.

Applied Global Services (AGS) offers consulting, spare parts, and services to improve the performance and productivity of customer’s equipment and fab operations. Industry trends—materials engineering, remote access, deep learning, and augmented reality—have led to significant advances in how the AGS group supports its global customers. From development through production, as device specifications become more stringent, AGS’ service offerings have helped customers achieve important yield, output, and cost improvements at every step of the semiconductor fab life cycle.

Applied Materials is looking for an experienced executive to provide overall vision and direction to Taiwan. This individual will be responsible for all Service offerings within Taiwan, including direct & indirect Taiwan customer’s overseas fabs. He/she will be responsible for metric reporting and forecasting, leading the organization through performance and process improvement, and strategic direction including full P&L responsibility. This position requires close coordination and strong working relationships with other regional functional departments as well as division and headquarters' functional leaders. This executive position resides within the AGS Field Leadership Team and reports to the Head of APAC AGS Field Organization. The preferred location for this position is Hsinchu, Taiwan, and it requires on-site attendance from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directs a Fields Service group and responsible for all issues within the Division, including the design, development and implementation of exceptionally complex Service programs in accordance with commitments to customer satisfaction, Profit &Loss, and budget management.
  • Anticipates future account needs leads the design efforts and facilitates the implementation of new approaches to service programs across the division with exceptional scope and significant customer impact.
  • Directs the strategic direction for all customer relationships within the division for operational and service commitments. Interfaces with internal and external customers on Divisional business and operational issues involving the company's service commitments.
  • As part of senior business group leadership team, ensures that such programs, strategies, and processes address high value problems (HVP) for the division and across segment and is aligned with the organization’s direction.
  • Leads interface with internal and external customers on service and customer satisfaction issues involving the business unit’s products.
  • Provides approval guidelines and leadership to reporting managers in the areas of long-term program, strategy, and process design.
  • Defines performance metrics and reports on the field service division's progress against specific goals.

Experience & Skills

  • BA/BS in Engineering or Business/Operational Management

  • Strong communications skills displayed through effective written communications, both technical and non-technical, and the ability to present in a manner of influence and impact
