ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The Infrastructure Platform Engineering (IPE) team is responsible for the engineering and operation of Group Engineering’s core infrastructure services—including data centres, storage, private cloud, platforms, databases, and middleware. Our mission is to modernise and transform both customer experiences and internal operations by using automation and Platform-as-a-Product principles. We aim to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure products that better support business operations and future transformation.
The Asset & Lifecycle Management team, part of IPE, plays a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the engineering landscape. We deliver accurate IT asset inventories, lifecycle visibility, and actionable infrastructure insights. We are seeking a Manager, Infrastructure Data to lead a team of data analysts in delivering high-quality, data-driven insights that inform strategic and operational decisions. This role blends technical leadership, engagement, and a focus on operational excellence to ensure the delivery of scalable, accurate, and impactful analytics.
In this role, you will oversee the development of enterprise-level datasets, dashboards, and reporting frameworks, while driving continuous improvement in data quality, governance, and visualisation practices. You will collaborate closely with multi-functional teams across Architecture, Engineering, and Operations to ensure data initiatives are aligned with business objectives.
To succeed in this role, you should be passionate about leading with purpose and enabling data-driven transformation. You will bring a strong analytical skill and a proactive approach to solving complex challenges. You are comfortable navigating both strategic and technical conversations, and you actively explore emerging technologies and techniques to enhance data capabilities. A broad understanding of IT infrastructure components, combined with the ability to communicate effectively across teams, is essential for success in this leadership role.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, ensuring high performance, collaboration, and professional development.
Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of dashboards and data models that provide insights into IT assets and infrastructure.
Drive the implementation of scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and automation to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
Collaborate with various partners to define data requirements and translate them into actionable analytics and visualisations.
Promote data governance and quality standards across the team.
Support strategic initiatives—such as infrastructure transformation, cyber risk analysis, and lifecycle planning—with data-backed insights.
Facilitate regular reviews with business and technology partners to assess risks, opportunities, and align on priorities.
Apply agile methodologies to manage team workflows and serve as scrum master where appropriate to ensure sprint goals are met.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Degree or equivalent in IT, Computer Science, or Technical Business Analysis
8+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related fields
3+ years experience in leading data or analytics teams, ideally within technology domains.
Proven technical background in data analysis, business intelligence tools, databases, and scripting languages (e.g., Power BI, Snowflake, SQL, Python, REST APIs)
Strong understanding of UI/UX principles with experience designing intuitive, user-centered interfaces for data dashboards, applications, or workflow tools
Solid understanding of ETL processes, databases and data warehousing concepts.
Experience overseeing the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to support data engineering, and the deployment of data workflows.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strategic attitude with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.
Bonus skills
Broad technical awareness and the ability to confidently engage across infrastructure domains; understanding of IT infrastructure components—such as compute, storage, operating systems, private/public cloud, and technology lifecycle—is a plus.
Familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Power Apps, Power Automate, Retool) for workflow automation and data input.
