Job Description

As part of the high-performing Client Insight & Engagement team, the Manager, Product Research will research, define, and craft outstanding digital experiences across the Analytics product portfolio. This role focuses on customer desirability, evolving sophisticated product concepts into user-first experiences across multiple industry digital touchpoints. It involves weaving design thinking, empathy, and innovation into the product process to ensure products meet and exceed user expectations, helping to define the future of client engagement with high-value financial solutions underpinned by new technologies.
Good To Have:

  • Hands-on exposure to established and emerging technologies like APIs, AI, machine learning, and cloud platforms.

Must Have:
  • Plan and implement user research, develop personas and insight to inform product development decisions.
  • Lead the design and optimisation of end-to-end experiences across external digital channels.
  • Plan and deliver regular product validation pilots and programmes.
  • Grow and manage user community to inform product roadmap through regular product evaluation.
  • Inform the channel integration of new capability creating seamless and usable end to end user journeys.
  • Lead the end-to-end continuous improvement of Products across channels, touchpoints, and operational layers.
  • Develop service blueprints, reinvent user journeys, and streamline process flows.
  • Design and facilitate ideation workshops, co-creation sessions, and design sprints.
  • Collaborate across teams, from research to tech to compliance.
  • Champion design thinking across the business and help embed it into ways of working.
  • Mentor junior researchers and guide multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong product research and design expertise, with ability to simplify complex tech focused experiences.
  • Collaborative, strategic mindset with excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Outcome oriented with a passion for designing human-first, relevant experiences.
  • Strong communicator, able to bring multiple teams together under a common purpose.
  • Ability to define and drive process governance.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to prioritise effectively and handle multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated ability, including experience of managing teams.

ROLE SUMMARY:

We’re looking for an experienced Product Research lead to inform and evolve sophisticated product concepts into user-first experiences across multiple industry digital touchpoints and channels. You'll weave design and systems thinking, empathy, and innovation to every stage of the product process, ensuring our products not only meet user needs but exceed expectations.

This is more than a research role; it’s a chance to help define the future of how our clients engage with and experience high value financial solutions underpinned by new technologies in analytics, AI, cloud and data platforms.

  • Plan and implement user research, develop personas and insight to inform product development decisions and relevance, driving stronger engagement and adoption.
  • Lead the design and optimisation of end-to-end experiences across external digital channels in alignment with user needs, business goals, and regulatory frameworks
  • Plan and deliver regular product validation pilots and programmes. Grow and manage our user community to inform our product roadmap through regular product evaluation.
  • Inform the channel integration of new capability creating seamless and usable end to end user journeys and experiences.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Champion design thinking across the business and help embed it into our ways of working.
  • Mentor junior researchers and guide multidisciplinary teams, supporting their growth while elevating design quality.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Strong product research and design expertise: research and synthesis skills, systems thinking, with the ability to simplify complex tech focused experiences for back-office processes and personas.
  • Collaborative, strategic mindset: with excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, including working with international and distributed teams.
  • Outcome oriented: A passion for designing experiences that are human-first, relevant and empower our customers to achieve high value outcomes.
  • Leadership: Strong communicator, able to bring multiple teams and fields together under a common purpose, show good judgment, promote connectedness. Ability to define and drive process governance.
  • Delivery focus: Attention to detail with the ability to prioritise effectively, proactively handle multiple projects under tight timescales, and ensure successful delivery to business outcomes.
  • Domain knowledge: Demonstrated ability, including experience of managing teams. Experience working in financial services and with regulated, data-rich products is crucial. You bring a user-first approach, with knowledge of product design. Familiarity with agile delivery is a plus. A background in finance, quantitative analytics, or a related field is highly valued, as is hands-on exposure to established and emerging technologies like APIs, AI, machine learning, and cloud platforms. Experience applying AI in your process or outputs will set you apart.
