  • Experience in Agile teams with adaptability.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • 10 years of work experience and 5+ years of team management.

As a leader, you will guide a talented full-stack team focused on backend and frontend engineering to own the My eBay and Charity engineering teams to achieve strategic objectives aligned with eBay’s Buyer & Community Engineering organization. The ideal leader for this role will set a strategic vision, focusing on high-impact technical investments, reducing technical debt, and enhancing delivery speed. They will integrate teams, fostering a culture of engineering excellence to streamline deployments and decrease engineering friction. Cross-functional collaboration is crucial; the manager will work closely with Core Tech, SRE, and other domains at eBay to develop new methods and share technology roadmaps, driving initiatives that impact the business. Responsibilities include overseeing engineering operations to align with eBay’s standards, mentoring engineering talent to champion excellence, and delivering solutions that enhance customer experience

What you will accomplish:

  • Lead a dedicated full-stack engineering team to deliver strategic roadmap for My eBay and Charity domains.
  • Provide tailored mentorship and guidance to foster your team members' development, adapting your approach to suit individual needs.
  • Establish collaborative, inclusive teams that thrive in delivering high-quality software.
  • Take ownership of team deliverables, ensuring the development and delivery of high-maintenance, reliable software.
  • Maintain a healthy and prioritized backlog, aligning with team goals for maximum impact.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and business units to innovate and scale the next generation of products.

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience managing teams of developers, particularly in a high-velocity environment.
  • Participate in code reviews, drive technical design discussions and be able to guide and influence decisions based on KPIs.
  • Expertise in building large-scale distributed systems that prioritize high availability, scalability, and resilience.
  • Experience in Agile teams with the ability to adapt to new areas and changes.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly articulate thoughts and proposals.
  • Familiarity with eCommerce is considered an advantage.
  • Dedication to delivering results with excellence, demonstrated through 10 years of work experience and 5+ years of team management.

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$210,400 - $280,900

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
