Job Description

As Manufacturing Engineer – Purchasing Controls, you will lead all external supply chain manufacturing activities, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery for designated programs and components. Working in a cross-functional team, you'll provide manufacturing input to design engineering, represent manufacturing perspectives in sourcing, and support new supplier integration. Key responsibilities include developing supplier readiness assessments, supporting quality requirements like APQP and PPAP, performing source inspections, and fostering continuous improvement.
Must have:
  • Lead all aspects of external supply chain manufacturing activities.
  • Ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met for programs and components.
  • Work in a cross-functional team to achieve procurement objectives.
  • Provide manufacturing input to design engineering for produce-able designs.
  • Represent manufacturing perspective regarding component sourcing strategy.
  • Work with Procurement & Quality organization to stand up new suppliers.
  • Develop & conduct supplier manufacturing readiness and technical risk assessments.
  • Support supplier with quality requirements (APQP, FAIR, PPAP; Drawing Alteration Requests, SABRe).
  • Perform supplier hardware delivery source inspections.
  • Create the environment for continuous improvement.
  • Become Certified Rolls-Royce source inspector status.
  • Meet basic educational/experience requirements (e.g., Associate degree with 4+ years experience, or Bachelor's with 2+ years, or Master's/JD/PhD, or 6+ years experience in lieu of degree).
  • Be a U.S. Citizen.
Good to have:
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Strong understanding of SABRe, FAIR, PPAP requirements
  • Experience of operating within a global manufacturing environment
  • Experience with electronics and controls manufacturing as well as certification processes
  • Experience in robust design methodologies
  • Experience in design of manufacturing tooling, gaging, and fixtures
  • Demonstrated experience working with suppliers to delivering world class manufacturing performance

As Manufacturing Engineer – Purchasing Controls you will be responsible to lead all aspects of the external supply chain manufacturing activities with accountability to ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met for the designated programs and components. You will work in a cross functional team, with manufacturing emphasis, to achieve procurement objectives.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide manufacturing input to design engineering to assure component designs are produce-able & facilitate design for manufacture supplier events
  • Represent manufacturing perspective regarding component sourcing strategy
  • Work with Procurement & Quality organization to stand up new suppliers
  • Develop & conduct supplier manufacturing readiness and technical risk assessments
  • Support to supplier with respect to quality requirements (APQP, FAIR, PPAP; Drawing Alteration Requests, SABRe)
  • Perform supplier hardware delivery source inspections
  • Create the environment for continuous improvement with the emphasis on sharing and searching for best practice
  • Become Certified Rolls-Royce source inspector status

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Engineering, Technology or Business with 4+ years of experience within Operations, Manufacturing, Quality or Purchasing, OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology or Business with 2+ years of experience within Operations, Manufacturing, Quality or Purchasing, OR
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Technology or Business, OR
  • JD/PhD in Engineering, Technology or Business, OR
  • 6+ year of experience within Operations, Manufacturing, Quality or Purchasing in lieu of a degree
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements:
