We are now looking for a Marketing & Community Director

Your Mission:

As the Marketing & Community Director at Arrowhead Games, you will lead and define a player-centric approach to marketing strategy and community development to build an industry leading brand presence. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer you’ll spearhead efforts to engage our player base, manage external communications, and deliver exceptional gaming experiences. Working closely with studio leadership and production teams, this role will help define the vision of what it means to be one of the millions of fans of our games.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with studio and game directors to design and execute innovative marketing and community strategies that captivate players, focusing on multichannel content with a strong emphasis on live and video storytelling.
  • Lead and mentor a highly motivated team of marketing, community, and player experience managers to deliver engaging content, frequent communications, and top-notch player experiences.
  • Innovate and implement best practices, tools, and processes to streamline data-driven workflows, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness across marketing and community efforts.
  • Foster a culture of iteration through data-driven player feedback, providing actionable insights to the production team in a live service game environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams at Arrowhead and PlayStation to define and achieve measurable product strategy goals, aligning with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to use data for improving player experiences and driving key business metrics.
  • Ensure customer support is closely integrated with community engagement, delivering timely and effective responses to player inquiries.
  • Partner with PlayStation to ensure alignment and successful execution of joint marketing plans and live service support.

Required Skills: 

  • Demonstrated leadership within the gaming industry, particularly in marketing and community management for live service games
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams to navigating the challenges and complexities of a live service game. 
  • Excellent planning and creative ideation skills, with a knack for generating innovative initiatives to meet product needs. 
  • Proven experience in writing and implementing large scale community communication strategies, including setting, reporting and reflecting regularly on KPIs
  • Proficiency in setting communication strategies and executing live game marketing campaigns
  • Proven ability to operate efficiently and effectively within resource allocation, demonstrating that impactful results can be achieved without excessive spending. 
  • Exceptional English communication skills, both written and spoken

  • Committed to transparent communication and fostering openness to feedback, both internally and with players
  • Capable of motivating and mentoring others, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation
  • Strong network within the industry, leveraging relationships to enhance marketing and community efforts
  • Genuine interest in the industry, staying informed about trends and best practices
  • Experience with video creation/editing, podcast production, and livestream management
  • Expertise in content creation software (e.g., Photoshop) and social media management

Experience:

  • 6-8 years in Community/Marketing/Communications within the games industry, with at least 4 years of leadership experience
  • Relevant degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field or equivalent demonstrated experience

Practical Information

Scope: Full-time: 40 hours per week with initial 6 month probation period.
Location: Office first, hybrid solution possible. You need to be eligble to work in Sweden.

We are a pet friendly office! You can expect to find dogs and occasionally some cats around.
