Rockstar Games is seeking a Marketing Manager to assist in the growth of our business in South Korea. This is a unique opportunity for a high performer to take on a pivotal role, with the ability to have a significant impact on the business. Reporting to the Senior Publishing Director (Asia), who is based in Singapore, you will work independently, supported remotely by the regional team, requiring you to be highly motivated and self-disciplined. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of South Korean players alongside a breadth of experience bringing Western products and live services to market.

You will represent Rockstar in South Korea, serving as the key point of contact for the business. Additionally, this role includes oversight of all communications-related functions, supporting the local communications strategy to ensure alignment with our overall publishing initiatives. Your role will involve close collaboration with the Communications team to help define and refine South Korea-specific strategies while acknowledging the complexity of the Asia region and limited local staffing.

This is a full-time permanent position primarily based in our Take-Two Seoul office.

WHAT WE DO

  • We collaborate closely with our regional Take-Two Sales, Operations, finance, legal, and HR counterparts to support all facets of the Rockstar business in Asia.
  • We manage product launches for high-profile console, PC, and portable gaming titles as well as our live service offerings – Grand Theft Auto Online & Red Dead Online.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the growth of the Rockstar business in South Korea. Build and develop a roadmap that leads to enhanced awareness of our brand, products, and live services with South Korean players.
  • Create tailored product marketing strategies, focused on messaging and positioning, for our titles and live services in South Korea.
  • Work on a cross-functional basis with our European and International counterparts to deliver best-in-class campaigns that resonate with South Korean players.
  • Maintain and leverage relationships with local partners, including but not limited to Media, First-Party, Agencies (media, communications, licensing), and distributors.
  • Serve as the primary representative of Rockstar Games in South Korea – advocating for the brand, engaging with partners, and representing the company at industry and consumer-facing events.
  • Maintain awareness of South Korean press and social media best practices.
  • Establish relationships with the local gaming community and creators.
  • Be our local expert on gaming and entertainment industry trends, technologies, and the competitive landscape.
  • Support the execution of media, lifestyle, industry, and community events for the South Korean market.
  • Provide local insight on communications efforts to ensure campaigns resonate with South Korean players. Work closely with the Communications team to ensure synergy between marketing and communications strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Native-level Korean, fluency in English (IELTS qualification or equivalent is a plus).
  • Subject matter expert, with a Degree &/or 5+ years of professional experience in consumer marketing, preferably interactive entertainment.

SKILLS

  • Expertise launching &/or managing Western brands/IP in the South Korean domestic market.
  • Deep knowledge of regional/cultural landscape differences and similarities in the gaming communities of South Korea and North America.
  • Proven ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, while driving impactful results.
  • Able to contribute towards strategic planning efforts whilst also managing day-to-day domestic execution with excellence.
  • A collaborative ethos working on multiple projects over extended periods, both in-person and on a remote basis.
  • Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to take initiative and own projects from start to finish.
  • Able to communicate effectively within a large publishing organization with an action-oriented mindset.
  • Strong presentation and organizational skills, in order to eloquently convey local insights and inform key decision-makers.
  • Creative thinker with the skills to analyse marketing challenges and develop effective marketing solutions.
  • Detail and results-oriented self-starter with disciplined workflow practices.
  • Comfortable providing actionable insight from internal data and consumer research.
  • Demonstrated success thriving in high-pressure, high-expectation roles, delivering exceptional results.
  • A passion for video games, the landscape, and the industry.
