dbt Labs is seeking its first Marketing Manager in Japan to lead the entire marketing funnel performance for the Japanese market. This pivotal role will drive the Go-to-Market strategy, accelerating the rapidly expanding adoption of dbt in Japan. The manager will collaborate directly with the APJ team, bringing a strategic perspective and hands-on execution capabilities to develop comprehensive marketing plans, execute localized campaigns, and achieve pipeline expansion goals.
Must have:
  • Lead marketing funnel performance in Japan
  • Develop comprehensive marketing plans and budgets for Japan
  • Plan and execute Japan-specific marketing campaigns
  • Localize global marketing initiatives for Japan
  • Collaborate with Japanese sales, alliances, and customer success teams
  • Drive awareness, lead generation, deal acceleration, and customer retention
  • Analyze and drive marketing funnel performance metrics in Japan
  • 6+ years of B2B marketing experience in Japan
  • Experience in program management with integrated marketing channels
  • Track record of adapting global initiatives to local markets
  • Experience managing pipeline or revenue targets
  • Strong analytical and data-driven approach
  • Ability to operate Tableau and Salesforce
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Experience in enterprise and commercial markets

Job Details

dbt Labs is looking for its first marketing professional in Japan. We are looking for a Marketing Manager who can lead the performance of the entire marketing funnel in the Japanese market. This position will be central to the Go-to-Market strategy in Japan and will play a crucial role in further accelerating the rapidly expanding adoption in this market. We are looking for someone who can work directly with the APJ team, possess a strategic perspective, and be able to execute independently when necessary.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive marketing plan and budget for the Japanese market, and achieve pipeline expansion through multi-channel campaigns, events, and partnerships.
  • Independently plan and execute marketing campaigns specifically for the Japanese market.
  • Identify and execute global marketing initiatives that should be localized for Japan.
  • Select regional events to sponsor, strategize for hosted/co-hosted events, and make recommendations on Japan-specific content marketing and digital advertising initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Japanese sales, alliances, and customer success teams to achieve goals for awareness, lead generation, deal acceleration, and customer retention/expansion.
  • Understand, analyze, and drive performance metrics for the marketing funnel in Japan.

Required Profile

  • 6+ years of B2B marketing experience in Japan (required). Experience in software or SaaS/subscription models is preferred.
  • Experience in program management utilizing integrated marketing channels and a track record of adapting global initiatives to local markets.
  • Experience in managing pipeline or revenue targets and able to discuss achievements and challenges.
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach, capable of repeatedly launching and improving programs.
  • Ability to operate dashboard tools such as Tableau and Salesforce.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills, able to convey strategies simply and clearly, and build trust within the organization.
  • Experience in enterprise and commercial markets (industry-specific marketing experience is a plus).
  • English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking) are desirable.

The estimated starting salary range for this position is: ¥11,114,000 to ¥13,471,000
