GoDaddy is looking for a paralegal to assist with and support the Global Marketing & IP team. The role involves handling global marketing matters and providing support to the IP attorney. Responsibilities include reviewing marketing content, drafting contracts, assisting with intellectual property matters, developing new processes, and conducting legal research. The candidate will identify legal risks and make recommendations for compliance and mitigation. This role requires 5+ years of legal experience.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of legal experience supporting marketing law.
  • Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience drafting and reviewing marketing-related contracts.
Good to have:
  • Active paralegal certificate in at least one U.S. state.
  • Experience in Intellectual Property.
  • Experience with consent management.
  • Experience with contests and sweepstakes.
  • Experience in corporate setting or consumer business.

Location Details: Remote, United States

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.  

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

GoDaddy is not currently considering candidates for this role in California, Seattle, or NYC.

GoDaddy is looking for a paralegal to assist with and support the Global Marketing & IP team to primarily help handle global marketing matters with some assistance and support to our IP attorney. This position will report to the Director of Global Marketing & IP. 

What you'll get to do...

  • Review marketing and advertising content from various business teams across multiple marketing channels to ensure compliance with advertising and consumer protection regulations, including claims and IP review
  • Review and draft various contracts for marketing related matters
  • Assist attorneys with intellectual property matters, including patents and trademarks 
  • Assist with developing and implementing new processes and procedures for global legal marketing initiatives
  • Conduct legal research on marketing and advertising laws, regulations, and industry best practices
  • Identify legal risks and develop proactive compliance and mitigation recommendations

Your experience should include...

  • 5+ years of legal experience, 2+ of which are supporting marketing law including claims substantiation, advertising reviews, broadcast and production experience, and related intellectual property matters; ability to apply that knowledge expeditiously to specific situations 
  • Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate or equivalent experience
  • Experience drafting and reviewing marketing-related contracts
  • Ability to explain legal principles to leaders and their implications for business practices and procedures

  • Active paralegal certificate to practice in at least one of 50 U.S. states
  • Experience in Intellectual Property
  • Experience with consent management
  • Experience with contests and sweepstakes
  • Experience in corporate setting and/or working in consumer business
