Job Description

The Mathematics Editor is responsible for managing projects in their area, ensuring pedagogical and disciplinary quality, adherence to timelines, and efficient resource administration. This role involves leading authors, editors, designers, proofreaders, and other professionals in the editorial production process, reporting directly to editorial management. The position is based on-site in Bogotá.
Must have:
  • Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring schedule and budget compliance.
  • Guarantee the quality of disciplinary content and its didactic approach.
  • Coordinate professionals (authors, reviewers, proofreaders, designers) for project requirements.
  • Collaborate with different areas involved in the editorial process.
  • Prepare reports and documents on process progress for editorial management.
  • Monitor project implementation in schools to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze competitor offerings and propose market strategies.
  • University degree in Mathematics.
  • Postgraduate studies (specialization or master's) in Mathematics.
  • At least three years of experience in school teaching in Mathematics.
  • At least three years of experience in textbook editing.
  • Knowledge of grammatical and spelling rules.
  • Mastery of the editorial process and the edited discipline.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Project planning capability.
  • Ability to coordinate editorial, legal, and administrative processes.

About the Role:

The Mathematics Editor is responsible for managing projects in their area, ensuring pedagogical and disciplinary quality, as well as compliance with timelines and efficient administration of assigned resources. They lead the work of authors, editors, designers, proofreaders, and other professionals involved in the editorial production process. They report directly to editorial management.

This position is performed in person at our offices, located in Bogotá.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with the schedule and assigned budget.
  • Guarantee the quality of the disciplinary contents of the area and their didactic approach.
  • Coordinate the work of assigned professionals such as authors, technical reviewers, proofreaders, iconographers, and designers, among others, to meet the requirements of each assigned project in a timely manner.
  • Work as a team with the different areas involved in the editorial process.
  • Prepare reports and other documents that support the progress of the process in accordance with the requirements of editorial management.
  • Monitor the implementation of projects in user schools in order to identify opportunities for improvement that address market needs.
  • Analyze the offer of products and services from the competition and generate proposals to compete with them in the market.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • University degree in Mathematics.
  • Postgraduate studies at specialization or master's level in the area.
  • Experience in school teaching in the area for at least three years.
  • Experience of at least three years in textbook editing.
  • Knowledge of grammatical and spelling rules.
  • Knowledge and mastery of the editorial process and the discipline being edited.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel.
  • Project planning capability.
  • Ability to coordinate the different processes involved in their work (editorial, legal and administrative).
