Main Responsibility
- Lead a team of Editorial Submission Advisors based in China – including day-to-day line management and representing the team to other departments within SN. Ensure all team members meet their objectives.
- Manage team resourcing levels by recruiting, selecting and onboarding as needed.
- Coach, develop and train team members and support their personal growth and development.
- Achieve results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results through regular communication and appraisals.
- Reporting to Head of Content Retention China on performance, challenges and feedback from authors and team members.
- Send required number of journal recommendations and maintain an average quality score of 98.5% of higher for the year.
- Provide the best possible service to Chinese authors by aiming to reply to author queries within 1 business day
- Use author feedback and other observations on trends to provide feedback and suggestions on ways to improve the Transfer Desk service for Chinese authors
- Suggestions of scalable, reliable process/service improvements tests to conduct across the Transfer Desk team
- Contribute to overall Transfers strategy to increase the uptake of transfers in China by:
- Providing monthly qualitative and quantitative feedback on author response and transfer rate of your tickets handled as well as observations made regarding specific journals or author behaviours.
- Identifying patterns or trends within your cluster and providing suggestions which will benefit donating/receiving journals and authors
Requirements for the position
Essential
- MSc / PhD level or equivalent experience in any area of science, technology or medicine.
- Solid working experience in STM publishing industry, preferably 2+ year
- Broad academic interests, with enthusiasm to learn outside of your own subject area.
- Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in English and comfortable with communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven organizational ability and time management skills.
- A high level of computer literacy (including Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Proven analytical/critical appraisal skills.
