About the Role
Redhorse is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Microsoft Security Architect to support our Federal client, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). This critical role will directly contribute to enhancing the FCC's cybersecurity posture by designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions. You will play a key leadership role in ensuring the agency's IT systems meet the highest security standards, contributing directly to the protection of critical national infrastructure and sensitive information. This position offers significant impact and visibility within a vital government agency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide cyber infrastructure support activities in Enterprise Cybersecurity Support.
- Lead cybersecurity engineering practices and implementations.
- Support security control assessments and continuous monitoring.
- Conduct vulnerability scanning and manage incident response processes.
- Design and implement security solutions for IT systems.
- Provide technical expertise for system integration and security architecture.
- Support DevSecOps practices and secure system development lifecycle.
- Evaluate and recommend cybersecurity tools and technologies.
- Implement and maintain security controls per NIST 800-53.
- Support penetration testing and security assessment activities.
- Assess and recommend access control systems, application and file security, security practices, intrusion detection/prevention.
- Perform system administration, configuration, patching, upgrades, and optimization of SOC tools, devices, applications, and sensors.
- Create, maintain, and support compliance content for FCC Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) toolset.
Required Experience/Clearance
- US citizen with a Top Secret US government clearance. Applicants who are not US Citizens and who do not have a current and active Top Secret security clearance will not be considered for this role.
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience performing cyber infrastructure support activities in Enterprise Cybersecurity Support government contracts.
- Core competencies in Cybersecurity Engineering practices, system architecture, security implementation.
- Knowledge, skills, tasks, and capabilities described in NICE Work Role for Infrastructure Support (PD-WRL-004).
- Required Certification: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP).
- Required Certification: Microsoft Certified Cybersecurity Architect Expert or GIAC Security Expert (GSE) certification.
Desired Experience
- Experience with specific security tools and technologies used by the FCC.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud security architectures (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience with Agile methodologies in a security context.
- Experience working with other Federal Government agencies.
- Public speaking and presentation skills for presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
