Job Description

ByteDance Networking is looking for a talented Network Software Development Engineer Graduate to join their team in 2025. As a graduate, you will be involved in designing and developing high-speed network technologies for ByteDance's products like Douyin and TikTok. Your responsibilities will include building software and tools to enhance the reliability and availability of the high-speed network infrastructure. You will gain valuable experience in data center networking at a massive scale, working with technologies like SDN, network virtualization, switch software and hardware co-design, and high-speed networking.

Must have:

Current or recent PhD graduate in CS, EE, CE, or related
Proficiency in C/C++, Python, Go
Passion for high-speed networking, hardware-software interaction
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment

Good to have:

Familiar with RDMA/RoCE network protocol
Experience developing software for large-scale data center networks

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - Current or recent PhD graduate with a background in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering or related technical discipline - Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment - Proficiency in one or several mainstream programming languages including but not limited to: C/C++, Python, Go - Passion in high-speed IP networking, hardware-software interaction, and hardware offloading technologies Preferred Qualifications - Familiar with RDMA/RoCE network protocol is a plus - Experience in developing software systems for large-scale data center networks or distributed systems is a plus ByteDance is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $119000 - $250000 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
