Company Overview
Each year, 2.5 trillion hours are spent on household chores. At Matic, we’re on a mission to recapture that lost time, and we’re doing it by revolutionizing home robotics.
Our first product, also called Matic, is a Wall-E-esque floor cleaning robot. We've built what amounts to "full self-driving in the home” with real-time 3D mapping, adaptive path-tracking, and a precise semantic understanding of the home. Our breakthroughs in spatial AI allow Matic to work reliably in real homes, using only RGB cameras and neural networks running on-device.
Privacy First
What happens in the home, stays in the home. Our robots are private by design, with all data processing performed by the robot itself, not in the cloud.
Our Approach
Before the iPhone, consumers adopted several distinct devices; cell phones, PDAs, and portable music players each served a particular need. We believe in a similar progression for home robotics, starting with single-purpose robots and building iteratively toward more complex capabilities over time.
Our Culture
Matic is a tight-knit and collaborative team, singularly focused on building products our customers will cherish. We're ultra-hardworking people committed to solving tough problems that save precious time and energy.
About the role
We’re seeking a full-time New Product Introduction (NPI) Manager and Inventory Specialist to join our Hardware team. This hands-on role drives the transition of our innovative home robotics products from prototype to mass production while overseeing inventory management to ensure seamless operations. You’ll play a critical role in coordinating cross-functional efforts and maintaining material availability for production.
What you'll do
- Lead NPI trials and builds (EVT, DVT, PVT phases, development builds, and DOEs), coordinating cross-functional efforts within manufacturing systems
- Support design and engineering teams in scaling product and process changes from pilot to mass production
- Collaborate with design and process engineers, leveraging data analysis and technical debriefs to validate products
- Analyze and implement optimal solutions for change coordination with manufacturing, global suppliers, and internal teams, managing EBOM, MBOM, and Change Control processes
- Optimize inventory levels to ensure timely availability of components for production and NPI activities
- Conduct manual inventory counts and reconciliations, resolving discrepancies with production and supply chain teams
- Receive and check in parts and subassemblies into Matic’s inventory system, ensuring supplier compliance with Matic shipment standards
- Develop and implement tools and processes to enhance inventory monitoring and management
- Maintain proactive communication with the global supply chain team to ensure material flow and address shortages or delays
- Document and report production line and inventory issues to supervisors
- Drive cross-functional problem resolution to ensure product quality and on-time delivery
What we look for
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of experience in process engineering, project management, or inventory management in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in New Product Introduction or product/process launches, including change management systems and product validation (testing methodologies, trial planning, and KPIs)
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced operations setting
- Experience managing inventory in a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong analytical skills to process unstructured, incomplete, or ambiguous data and prioritize effectively
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a track record of impactful solutions in meaningful projects
